It is a crystal clear fact that all teams are different as their outcomes and accomplishments vary. Team effectiveness is the most critical issue as every process within a team makes it a unique group. It can be easily observed that different teams in the same organizations produce different results. The question is why some groups within an organization work better than others. An effective team only emerges when the group members combine their efforts without seeking individual advantage. Such a team has defined goals that help it to concentrate on the work more. The mutual dependence and support within the team helps its members to be openly communicative and share their ideas more confidently. Such an open communication is the basic trait of high performing groups as the dissemination and sharing of information is not restricted (McGourty & DeMeuse, 2001).
Thus, it can be said that a team that works better than the other teams allows democratic processes to take place. The team members of an effective and competent team are acquainted with the fact that their team’s success is dependent on being cooperative towards each other. Moreover, the teams that stand out in an organization are the ones within which every fellow worker is respected and his/her uniqueness is appreciated. Time is always used by efficient teams in a productive and effective manner. Most importantly, the most important fundamental that makes a team successful is the positive attitude of the members. Also, the team members know that the maintenance of a sense of humor is essential to continue working as a group (Daft & Marcic, 2013).
