Essay On The Civil War.

My response to the situation of the Civil War is that it was not an equally depraved matter, and therefore, the political system may not have functioned as it was supposed to. After all, the African-Americans had helped overcome their almost total absence of any civil, social or political rights, especially in the South, and had contributed to the end of American slavery. The War between the States brought slavery to a close, the worst institution in United States history. It also preserved the Union, keeping aloft a country based on self-governing philosophies and which at least tried to offer independence and freedom to its citizens.
Though the war had some positive outcomes, it also had some adverse effects as it led to the death of many people, disabling others while relatives and friends were left grieving for their loved ones. It also resulted in the destruction of property. However, some advantages can stem out of the war, with the end of war and cessation of the massacre that characterized the war coming to a halt though the suffering caused before the war supersedes the gains made.
The Civil War greatly shaped the contemporary United States. This civil war demonstrated the extent to which racism and white sovereignty infused American people from its very beginning, but also the ways in which the most oppressed and demoralized can fight back and challenge the atrocities faced by people. The civil war brought about massive change in the modern United States as lives lost were for a great cause with the collapse of the aristocracy, that existed in society. The war was a marker for change, with a new political and social order being conceptualised. Heroism and political change were prevalent in the struggle directly attributed to civil strife.
