The literal book snow country by Kawabata yasunari, is a highly magnificent piece of writing that brings out numerous themes which relates to the Japanese traditional and contemporary culture. The book explores the fact that life in the real world is a mixture of numerous instances happening. They can be true or untrue, sincere or insincere, pure or impure.
Beauty as a main theme in the book snow country has been uniquely developed in the book the snow country. Kawabata perceives the beauty of a pure life to be so unique and dynamic. He associates beauty with energy generated with striving for an ideal whether attainable or not attainable Kawabata, Pg. 24.
In many instances, Kawabata uses a young woman to play a pivotal role in his book the snow city.This symbolizes the concept of pure love. This is longing for ideal love that is spotless and stainless which is sometimes very hard to achieve. However, the author also portrays pure beauty a fragile and perishable beauty that is difficult to last for a longer period Kawabata Pg. 104.
The glaring glasses of the Kahala Hilton hotel see Kawabata so impressed. Its beauty was magnificent. He characterizes the beauty as sparkling stars located far at an unattainable distance Kawabata Pg. 114.
The characters in the story derive their inner beauty in longing for the infinite. For them, the sole purpose of life is transfigured in the profundity and simplicity in longing for the infinite.
In the context of this novel, it has been referred to be a sleeping house of beauty. This was due to the various geographical and political forces of nature. These factors are the basis of beauty of the Snow country. Kabwata the writer of the book portrayed the nature of the old man thoughts in relation to the environment and circumstances surrounding him. The loneliness and boredom made the old man to configure the beauty of nature Kawabata, Pg.157.
This novel provides a traditional environment of the Japanese culture. It displays the deep heritage of the people of Japan giving them the ability to serve as well as the literary aspect of Japanese culture. This reflects the beauty of the cultures by revealing the fantasies and physical features of the snow city Kawabata Kawabata, Pg. 202.
In the house of sleeping beauties, the sun showed the beauty of nature by glowing and glooming on the natural setting and features. The sun made the stone fence, which gives a clear and fantastic view of nature. The flowers around the Yamato temple give beautiful scenery, which makes it more appealing to the human eye Kawbata, Pg. 157.
The novel reflected the loneliness and the effects it has no matter the age. This shows how people become hopeless when they are alienated from love. The crimson red colors of the curtains showed the beauty of those velvet curtains Kawabata, Pg. 32.
The reflection of the dark nights and blue seas was an elaboration of the nature of the natural factors surrounding the sea. The forces of nature were also given much emphasis.The man who died next to the beauties gives a reflection of the beauties of nature in the society. This also relates to the woman who gave birth to a child Kawabata, Pg, 106.
In conclusion, this novel portrays an excellent reflection of the natural and inner beauty. It also elaborates the human efforts in striving to achieve the intimate meaning of life. This is perceived to be the epitome of the inner beauty.
