Happiness is the state and condition of a non consistent joy. It is a source of pleasure that does not bring with it any consequences. It is a joy that does not by any chance contradict a person’s morals and values but rather upholds them. It is one that makes use of a person’s brains to the fullest and not that which will make s person underutilized. It is not a joy based on misleading reality but one that is realistic and genuine. It is, therefore, an emotional mood of satisfaction pleasurable to the individual that is experiencing it.
Different people deduce and find pleasure in various ways and; therefore, there is not a standard measure of happiness. What pleases one person may not work out for another person at all. It is, therefore, essential that as, human beings, we appreciate the diversity in emotions and accept others regardless of the source of their happiness. Some individuals attain contentment to the amount of wealth, educational achievements, and social status in society while other attains more joy in being normal and from the ordinary life that they lead.
Cheerfulness brings with it more advantages than the disadvantages. Research has proven that happy people are healthy and are safe from some of diseases such as depression. They tend to have a healthy living since they think clearly and under little or no pressure since they do not experience too much anxiety. It is also healthy that every person that wants to develop the interpersonal links and networks with people be in a good mood. The mood that one sets a conversation with will determine and influence the course, of such relationship. Happiness is, therefore, a highly instrumental and necessary emotion in relationship building. The emotion that a person has can be spilled over to the people they interact with directly. A happy person will keep those around them happy and in a good mood, as opposed to a sad individual that infects others with the foul mood.
If one wants to maintain and experience happiness, it is essential that they base their thinking on reason. A properly reasoning person will not hurt other people in the premise that they will get pleasure out of it. This may bring a state of psychological imbalance and instability if done. A happy individual is one that upholds and desires to respect others and their emotions as well as respect their own emotions. This is because human beings are created with a conscience that is always in play when we make decisions. If an individual treats others with disregard, then they are bound not to be happy due to the unclear and unclean conscience. It is, therefore, important that any person that is seeking to be happy be considerate about others for their own right and enjoyment of others.
Any sane and upright thinking individual wants to be happy. For this reason, people work hard to acquire wealth because they assume that it will bring them happiness. They then go on to form support systems in the form of families, friends and colleagues that we perceive that they will bring joy in life. However, it is the same reason that the irrational individuals seek to do all manner of things that are detrimental to their mental and emotional state, all in an effort to be happy. People steal, murder and deceive all in pursuit of happiness. It is now evident that happiness is a basic necessity to the growth of an individual emotionally.
