Dear Sir,
I have always aspired to gain expertise in professional economics. The master’s degree in economics is applicable to many fields and will help me in experiencing the value of financial flow. My purpose in applying for this MSc Economics program is two-fold. First, I want to strengthen my knowledge in Economics and my ability to apply econometrics to answer policy questions and assist in formulating policy responses. For this, the Econometrics Methods and Applied Econometrics modules will be very useful; the application methodology of the course suits my requirements. Second, I want to deepen my understanding and knowledge of the kinds of policy issues that arise in managing a complex region such as Zhejiang Province for economic growth. For this I feel that a balanced consideration of both macroeconomics and microeconomics is important. I am interested in opting for the elective modules in Development Economics, Behavioral Economics, Industrial Organization, British Industrialization and Political Economy. My overall aim in taking this selection of modules is to develop a comprehensive understanding; to assist a provincial government in developing policies that will foster strong and sustainable economic growth. I want the existing strengths of the region to be retained, while creating new synergistic opportunities.
For this reason, I understand the importance to have sound knowledge of the strategic imperatives faced by the organizations. The competitive environment that the firms face in formulating their strategies needs to be studied carefully.
After this the policy initiatives should be framed to give incentives to organizations. I have made good progress in developing my economic expertise so that I can make a contribution in the development of sound business policy in Zhejiang. However, I feel I need the additional proficiency from a master’s level to sharpen my economics education and prepare me for prospective employment opportunities.
I hope my application finds favor with the esteemed panel of the university.
Best regards
