Management
Management
The problem experienced in American education especially for the young children in school, is inefficiency in the effective flow of information for the measurement of individual and general district level performance. This in general makes it too much difficult to identify weak areas and those children who need immediate assistance so as to improve their performance.
It has also been identified that there are very few children taking some subjects such as Algebra in public schools and even for those who have taken it are performing below the requirement grade. In the plans to arrange the school children according to their financial backgrounds e.g. from the poor and rich families was identified as another major problem that ruined the performance of schools since those from wealthy backgrounds were prone to greater access to quality education resources compared to those from poor backgrounds.
Similarly, it was identified that there was laxity by the school principals to offer an assistant to children in selecting courses resulting from delays to the analysis of the previous result. This makes it so much difficult for the teachers to offer assistance to the children and provide proper guidelines to the identified famous course in that particular period. Lack of proper connection between parents and teachers in offering an assistance and proper guidance to children in education. Whereby, the parents could not get information in the performance of their children at school on time so as to help improve their performance.
Another problem was lack of satisfaction in the delivery of quality education to each individual child at school based on financial background of each child. This is because; the gap of achievement in the delivery of quality education between the two groups was significant and that identifying gifted children also was too difficult. Also, the number of children who could read in kindergarten level was different for example in terms of their financial backgrounds, Such that children from wealthy backgrounds were well-off compared to those from poor background.
It was identified that the frequency of testing the children was not sufficient, and that the children were not well exposed to productive activities that improve their skills in tackling different tasks they come across in their daily life. There are incompetent teachers who are not effective in the delivery of services. Such teachers were never questioned. Others could not get enough access to the important information regarding the quality of services they are mandated to deliver. It was evident that most of the teachers have not welcomed the data-driven idea.
Improved use of data systems in identifying and improving individual performance of children at schools and also provide quality resources to aid boost the performance. For those problems which involve choice of subjects for example, calls for immediate intervention so as to improve on the children’s performance such as provision of tutorials once the children leave school, lengthening the periods of study and making special appointments with parents of the respective children for regular check on their improvement.
Such a problem of classifying children based on wealth backgrounds should be ignored and instead, a better system of collecting general data on all children should be developed to held in the identification of needy children and therefore the problems be solved in an efficient manner. The principals should be provided with an efficient system that would help analyse the previous performance of children in schools on time and help identify the effective subjects of the year for specific children who have a potential to do it. This helps to improve their performance.
There was need to develop a special system that links the teachers, parents and children directly to help check the performance of individual students at school and how they are improving. This would help monitor their performance and avoid failing their courses. It was suggested that the new system developed would help identify gifted children and provide them with special attention. And like it was identified that children from the kindergarten would read differently depending on their financial backgrounds, it was necessary for the government to provide enough quality resources to the children from poor backgrounds to help improve the quality of education they obtain from public schools so as to boost equality.
It was also identified that teachers who underperform should be appearing in a committee formed for questioning and each teacher’s performance should be checked and disciplinary action taken to those who are not improving for the better. All this is aimed at encouraging hard work and quality service delivery. It was identified that the frequency of testing the children should be increase and that they should be trained on important skills that impact positively to their respective talents.
