Shuttle Services
An analysis of the three alternatives indicates that the most appropriate solution would be contracting a valet service provider. This alternative scored highly in the decision matrix; also, it offers the restaurant a low cost solution and has the support of customers. Advertising was ranked second in the decision matrix due to its low cost for the establishment and ease of implementation. However, this alternative is not effective since it does not offer a solution but rather a roadmap to another solution. It is necessary to note that customers want ready solutions that can solve a problem immediately; hence, why advertising scored lowest in terms of convenience to the customer.
The valet service option is recommendable since it delegates the role of parking customers’ cars to a reputable service provider. As a result, customers will feel that they are appreciated by the establishment, and this will help increase customer loyalty. Customer loyalty is also determined by their inclusion in the decision making process. In this situation, the customers have shown they support the valet service option; hence, choosing this option will include customer preferences in decision making.
The most appropriate solution should always be the one with the longest life span, and one which allows for the growth of a business. The valet service option provides that since as the business grows, it will be the responsibility of the valet service provider to ensure all clients are served. In case, the establishment opts for a shuttle service, it will need to purchase another shuttle once the volume of customers increase. The purchase of a new bus and the maintenance costs show that this alternative will not be effective when the business starts to grow. Hence why the valet service alternative is the most appropriate option for the restaurant.
