It is the use of the influential social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter as marketing strategy. Brand and content marketing in social media sites have been one of the most trending business strategies in the modern times (King, 2013). Social media marketing could also use visual marketing as well as ecommerce which could be advantageous for business.
Another trend that marketing planners should be aware of is the technology becoming mobile. Phones, tablets and ipads are now more available to the market and it is being used by millions of people around the world (Qualman, 2013). Marketing planners should use these advantages in order to create a connection between them and the potential costumers. Marketing planners should use the trend of becoming mobile such as the use of geolocation applications. These applications could advise people from various places and it could lead them to the most suitable business (Cooper, 2011).
The third trend that marketing planners should be aware of is the rise of employee brand. Employee brand is the term used to relate to the reputation of the organization. Employee branding could be used in order to attract candidates and employees which are educated and talented in terms of analysing and using social media trends. Employee branding could be considered an old strategy but it could be beneficial if the social media trends are considered (Burgess, 2012).
