How would you change the world?
Lots of people associate being elected a President with becoming all-knowing and all-powerful. In fact, even a President is hardly able to cope with all the issues and help all the citizens change their lives for the better. So, while writing this essay I will not try to find the way to change the world, but will refer to definite areas, which require reforming.
First of all, if I became a President, I would take actions to combat poverty and improve standards of life. The first step to reducing the number of those, living below the breadline, lies in increase of number of available jobs. In other words, combating poverty means combating unemployment.
I would put an emphasis on two main directions of creating new jobs. The first one deals with creating such conditions for conducting business, which will let U.S. corporations not outsource manufacturing processes to India or Malaysia, but create workplaces for American citizens. I would also elaborate on amending legislation so that it will become more complicated to outsource activities abroad. The second one is connected with revealing and removing preconditions for so-called “educated employment”.
This direction brings me closer to one important issue. I think that we should bring our education standards closer to the job fair and promote students’ gaining professional experience, while studying. Such an imitative will both help students get acquainted with their future job and combat “educated employment”. Moreover, it is worth reconsider school curriculum, aiming at making it more diverse, which will contribute to broadening children’s mental outlook and their more deliberate choice of future occupation. Several more initiatives I would like to implement, deal with promoting healthy lifestyle, including choosing natural food and going in for sports.
I am confident that aforementioned directions of reforming are the ones, which will be really helpful against the background of current economic and political situation in the USA.
