Introduction
The main aim of this document is to address my personal beliefs in God, knowledge, ethnics, reality, human nature, consistency, human purpose, and metaphysical in our daily life. I have presented answers the exact way I would answer to the questions during a regular conversation or when someone asks me about my individualized thoughts and alignment with my religious thoughts and views. I this outline, I have presented answers to the questions based solely on my personal views. I have not included nor taken anyone’s point of view concerning the questions in the document. The answers are my honest answers, on how I think and view the questions asked. When being asked, I would ensure to articulate that the views are mine and that the views and perspectives are not forced on anyone. I respect all religions and individual perceptions on the fact of reality. The following answers answer the questions on my private beliefs.
Question 1
- Who is God and what are His characteristics?
- God created the universe. He is the reason why everything exists because He is the sole creator of the entire living and non-living things.
- God is compassionate and all knowing. He is compassionate towards human beings. God loves all humans unconditionally, despite humans being sinful (McCormack, 2008).
- God is divine. He is the powerful of all supernatural powers. He controls the universe.
- God is honest. He always tells us about Himself. He manifests Himself to always be honest. He is accurate to what He says.
- God loves. He allowed His only Son, Jesus to come to the world, save the sinners and die by being crucified for the sake of humankind. He created human being as his image. Human being are the only creatures that He created on His image.
- What is a human being and what happens when one dies?
- Human beings are a part of life’s circle of this planet. Human beings depend essentially on the earth’s biosystem. They stand above subhuman form of life in the planet. Human beings express their superior dignity and uniqueness to God’s image. A human being is God’s physical form. God created human beings purposely live in harmony as one of His creations. Human takes the reflection of God. These reflections are the factors that increase the sacredness of life defining human (McCormack, 2008).
- When someone dies, his soul will rise to heaven. The soul will go to heaven if he lived a righteous life according to the ways of God. God will accept the soul and soul and heart will live rejoicing happily in heaven. However, if you die and during the time you were alive, you did not live according to the teaching of God, then you will go to hell. The soul suffers in hell for eternity (Nelson, 2005).
- What is the nature of the universe?
- Universe refers to totality of existence. The universe includes the stars, planets, galaxies, energy, and intergalactic space. The universe is a unique and glorious creation of God. God made the universe be ideal for the living, and non-living organisms to exist peacefully. God created the universe without any blemish. He created the universe and put everything in place so that humans and other organisms to coexist harmoniously (Cosgrove, 2006).
- However, humans have continued to sin in the globe. I believe that the universe was without any sin. Nevertheless, humans have continued to destroy the universe with endless sinning and corruption. The destruction has led to destruction of the universe. The corruption has led to destruction of the face of the universe (Hammond and Hunter, 1984). The endless degrading the face of the universe. I am with no doubt that God created the universe perfectly. God is perfect, therefore, the universe being one of his works, was perfect. The current nature of the universe is not pleasing. Human beings have continued to destroy the universe through sinning and destruction of the face of the universe. This was not to the expectation of God.
- How do you know things that you know? How do you validate their truth?
- I was born a catholic, and I was raised and now I have grown to be a devout Catholic. During these times, I attended Sunday schools and bible studies. In these meetings, I was taught several things about life and the divine spirit, God. God is everything good. Everyone wants to live according God’s ways. However, it is not easy as you would think (Selimian, 2010). Through the journey of knowing the paths of God, I came to know almost everything I currently know. God is my reference on all things I did. I maintain a healthy relationship with God, and I believe that He guides me to realize and know the truth.
- The Bible guides me to know what is true and what is not true. Through my knowledge of the bible, I am aware of the bible. It is my source of direction. It guides me on knowing truth and what is not true. King James Version, KJV, of the Bible is my best source of direction (Nelson, 2005). The KJV has been revised with time. My views almost align with the bible.
- What is right and wrong or how can we know the right and wrong?
- A right action or a right act is doing something that is in connection with the teaching of God. Something that is right being according to God. We may be right according to the perspectives of mankind, but on the other hand, it is wrong to God. Something that is wrong is an act that is not in accordance to God’s teaching. You may be considering that you doing something wrong, but indeed, you are doing the correct thing. For example, smoking in a group of smoking friends is right. There is no problem smoking in the company of friends, but it is wrong according to the God’s ways. God is our reference on determining what is right and wrong. Before we decide to do something, we have to hesitate and ask ourselves whether the thing we are to do is right or wrong according to the ways of God (McCormack, 2008).
- Is life pointless or is there purpose?
- Life is not pointless. On my opinion, different people have different goals in life. People have different ambitions and goals. We can never say that life is pointless. We have a purpose in life. Although life is full of sin, we can still be close to God. I may have gone through many tribulations and temptations, but I have still held on that I have a purpose in life. The tribulations did not bring me down as much I wanted to believe that life is pointless (Selimian, 2010).
- Life is about being close to God. Life is about helping people. Life has a purpose. Helping people and doing good to neighbors is one of life’s purposes. This assistance strengthens my purpose of life. Life is not meaning. The purpose of life is living according to the will of God and maintaining a strong relationship with God (Hammond and Hunter, 1984).
- What core commitments are consistent with my worldview and how do they impact life?
- I am committed to aligning my core values to the Ten Commandments. The Commandments provides me with values that I should live with. The value of each of the Ten Commandments shapes my life and the way am living. I am sure that being committed to the laws in the Commandments, I can view the world in a broad perspective (Hammond and Hunter, 1984).
- Through believing in the Commandments, I try to be the person the Commandments require from me. The world has diverse people. Living and interacting with these people require patience and understanding. The Commandments provides me with the best elements that help me associate with people. The Commandments provide ethical and moral values that help in life (Nelson, 2005).
Conclusion
My worldview is almost the same to the Christian worldview. The two views believe in the existence of a super being. The Christian view expects us to live according to the ways of Christ. The Christian ways involves that we abandon the life of sin and encourage living a sinless life. Although it is difficult to live a sinless, it is not impossible to live the life of Christ. On my opinion, the world is a reality. We living in a world full of many factors that control life. All that is involved in life is ensuring that you live a righteous life. One has to establish and maintain their ethical and moral standards. These are the driving forces that ensure that we live a life according to the will of God (Cosgrove, 2006).
