In this instance, the employment agency generally is hired on a retainer basis and given set standards for their potential executives (See Jaracz). Moreover, employment agencies can help potential employees gain more skills for the positions that they desire. Employment agencies also offer their job seekers access to job training (See Jaracz).
Many employees find it tough to find a good job in their field of work. A potential job seeker may send out tens or even hundreds of resumes without receiving the response that he or she desires. This can get frustrating. In addition, the job seeker may be doing something wrong or in an inefficient manner when searching for employment. This is because the job seeker may be knowledgeable in the field in which he or she is seeking work; however, he or she may possess little to no skills in locating a job. An employment/placement agency can help the job seeker increase his or her chances of finding a job that he or she is qualified for and desires. The placement agency may have better knowledge of the companies that are hiring and what each position entails. Furthermore, the employment agency knows who to contact regarding follow up for the position and scheduling an interview. In addition, going through an employment agency can help to give the person doing the interviewing at the company some confidence that the potential candidate is someone who may fit one of the positions that the company has available. Moreover, the employment/placement agency can answer questions that the potential employee has about the position to make sure that the jobs the potential employee is applying for are ones that they will find desirable.
Employers, too, may find it tough to find employees that meet their needs. Employers may not want to spend a great deal of time interviewing candidates that do not match the job criteria for the positions that they have open. Therefore, many of these employers will turn to employment/placement agencies in order to have the employment/placement agency seek out potential candidates and weed out the undesirable ones. ‘For employers, an employment agency can take the grunt work out of human resources. Filing an open position takes time and money. The American Staffing Association estimates that hiring a worker can cost 7 top 20 percent of that position’s salary and take 30 to 45 days to fill. This can be pretty taxing on some companies, so it’s worth their while to farm out the hiring process to a recruiter at an employment agency” (Jaracz).

It is very important to an employment/placement agency’s success for it to establish relationships with clients that are looking for quality employees.
