This paper is an evaluation of what has been leant about HIV/AIDS in various settings. In this paper, all the activities and what has been learnt from them will be analyzed. I will also write about HIV/AIDS, its prevention, mode of spreading among other issues that are associated with it. There were many activities involved like reading, presentation, group work, skill building sessions that aimed at equipping one with pre and post-test counseling skills.
AIDS is the abbreviation of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. This is the last stage of HIV septicity. However, not everyone with HIV advances to the AIDS phase. AIDS is the stage whereby the immune system of a person is damaged badly and one gets opportunistic infections easily. This may lead to the death of a person if not treated early. Without treatment, AIDS becomes fatal and those who are infected with it die within 3 years.
The counseling sessions come in two parts; pre and post counseling. These sessions are equally important and they aid one who is being tested in getting ready for the results or even how to live with or without the infection. They are conducted by people who have prior knowledge of counseling and they can comfortably handle their subjects.
There were various sources of evidence on the subjects. Many came from online sources, government data and even visits to the local hospitals so as to get firsthand contact with those who had been affected by the disease. It was seen that this disease was causing many deaths if unchecked and there were many drives that were in place to try and minimize the instances of infection and spread.
