The just concluded United States elections exhibited the fact the rivalry between the democrats and republicans is far from over. With a narrow margin separating these two parties, the rift between the supporters is growing greater by each day. In this particular election the Obama Biden candidature won the election. My position on the paper will evaluate the results of the Republican Party; Romney Ryan candidature.
Different from the previous elections in 2008, the republicans did a well influential campaign. The gap between and the looser was narrow than in the previous election. In this election, the Republican Party clinched all the obvious republican states. The popularity of the Republican Party in its states is still at its peak level. The swing states in the nation made the difference in the count of the Electoral College votes. The democrats clinched almost all the swing states (Gomer, par 4).
According to Gomer, the campaign by the republicans was not effective enough to gunner the most votes in the swing states (par, 6). The republican campaign focused more on national policies that affected more the economy of the nation. In this campaign the plight of the minority and women was ignored. The campaign did less to ensure that the minority groups would be effectively represented. With the swing states having a greater number of minority groups, the republican failed to gunner these votes due to the disregard of the minority votes.
Apart from the poor ideas on the representation of the minority groups, the republican had a greater chance of winning the election (Gomer, par 5). With the democrats having not fulfilled the promises they made in 2008, the republicans capitalized on this mistake and were able to provide a stiff competition to the winning party.
