Introduction
An evaluation plan refers to a roadmap that identifies the goals and objectives that one is conducting. The evaluation plan will also describe the process to be executed in conducting a research exercise. It includes the information that will be collected and defines the methods that will be used to analyse the data collected. The plan will be responsible for carrying out the project. The question under evaluation is: What is Vocational Rehabilitation in patients with prolonged fatigue complaints satisfying optimal evaluation facets to be further pursued?
This evaluation question is important because it helps to address the health problems that the elderly might be experiencing. This method of treatment is treated as an intervention which means that it is a long-term medical strategy (Elbel & Schlesinger, 2009). This makes the question under evaluation important because it studies the various strategies that can be used in treating the elderly. This makes it relevant to the topic in the proposal. In addition, it illustrates the manner in which it shall be executed in the real environment. That is in the implementation stage. While implementing the health strategy, the Vocational Rehabilitation for the elderly plays and important role in the wellbeing of the elderly in the society.
Evaluation Design
The evaluation design that I have chosen for this evaluation plan is Randomized Experiments. This is the most rigorous evaluation design. This evaluation design will address all the factors that need addressing in the health plan for the elderly. I used this design because it will address all the issues that affect the elderly. In addition, this will be done in great detail. The evaluation plan will greatly determine whether the proposed plan is viable or not. The proposed plan is prone to some challenges that may face the implementers of the plan. However, these challenges can be addressed before the implementation stage (Punnett et al, 2009). An evaluation plan is the most ideal method of determining the viability of the proposed health treatment plan. The Randomized Experiments provide the surest method of conducting the evaluation process.
Using this evaluation design, the subjects of the experiment are randomly assigned to the groups that receive the treatment. These groups of people are then assessed in relation to the treatment plan that exists. The effects of the people who are subjected to the treatment plan will be monitored based on the reactions they portray in the evaluation phase. The group that is undergoing treatment will be compared with another similar group that is not undergoing any form of treatment. This will compare the different results that are obtained from the various treatment groups (Mazor et al, 2007). The results from the group undergoing treatment will be monitored and presented to determine the differences that are obtained from the group undergoing the experimental treatment program. The data about each group is collected before and after the experiment is conducted. The data collected before the experiment begins will be compared with the data collected after the experiment is conducted. Differences between these two sets of data collected, will show and indication of the benefits of the progress that the experiment has on the elderly patients. From the data collected, the experiment may reveal significant amounts of progress as compared to the group that is not undergoing any form of treatment plan. Randomization also ensures that all groups are similar in nature and that any form of biasness is not experienced.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Every evaluation plan as its measure of benefits and its disadvantages. This valuation design is beneficial because it will give velar details of the experimental design and provide clear assessment results as well. The valuation design has embraced the use of an experiment that will examine the test subjects for the proposed health plan. A random group of people will be selected to become subjected to the treatment experiment. The results of the study will be examined and compared to a selection of people who were not subjected to the same experimental treatment. The details examined from the experiment will yield a good result outcome for the evaluation process. The evaluation design will also provide a good interpretation of the experiment that has been conducted. Viewers of the process will be in a position to greatly examine and understand the whole process (Garnick et al, 2007). The valuation design is not biased in any way and does not engage in any form of discrimination for the test subjects. This is because all the participants are selected on a random basis. No criteria was used in selecting the participants. This will ensure the production of clear results.
On the other hand, there are some weaknesses that are associated with the evaluation method. The evaluation method is prone to financial constraints. Conducting the experimental will require numerous resources because of the test participants who will be selected form the experiment. In addition, the experiment will consume a long period of time before completion (Goldman et al, 2008). Therefore, the procedure maybe time consuming for the people conducting it. In some cases, it will require special skills to execute the exercise for the people participating in the group experiments. This will require the training of the personnel who will be conducting the experimental exercise. This is to ensure that the results or the experiment are as accurate as possible.
Threats
The valuation exercise is also prone to some threats that may threaten to cause it to fail. The experiment has a threat of not producing adequate results for the proposed health plan. If inadequate people are used for the experiment exercise, there will be significant levels of inaccuracy from the experimentation process. This will require that the personnel attending to the experimental procedure be well and adequately trained to execute this experiment. The instruments of collecting data are in threat of misinterpretation (Feldman, Parente & Christianson, 2007). Therefore, the observers who are relying on the results might be misled into thinking a different thing will happen from the proposed plan of treating the elderly.
However, there are ways in which these threats can be addressed in the evaluation exercise. In a bid to minimize the threat effects, I shall ensure that the personnel working on the valuation process are indeed in a right position to do and are well trained. In addition, the results will be monitored and the level of accuracy will be increased to ensure credibility of the results obtained from the evaluation process. When collecting the data, personnel with training on data collection techniques will be used to engage in the process. In addition, the data collected will recorded in an accurate manner using well established data recording techniques. This will improve the quality of the data recorded and will ensure increased accuracy of the results obtained from the valuation exercise.
Methods
There are various data collections techniques that were used to gather vital data to be used in the evaluation exercise (Campbell et al, 2011). The method of data collection technique is crucial to the success of the evaluation plan. Data will be collected through the use of observation and interviews. These two methods are highly vital to the data collection exercise. The personnel working on the project will be engaged in an observation exercise where they will record and document the events that take place during the experiment. What they observe will be used to determine the success of the entire project as a whole. They will observe the characters and behavior of the participants within the experimental process within the evaluation plan. Another data collection method that will be used in the evaluation process is interviews. The selected participants will be interviewed by the personnel working on the project. They will be asked to express their views of the exercise and the experience they are having during the group participation forum. Their opinions will be recorded and will be used to produce vital information regarding the evaluation process.
Modifications
During the data collection process, there are various technological tools and appliances that will need to be adopted in a bid to ensure that the data collection processes is as accurate as can be. During the observation stage, the use of cameras and microphones can be introduced. This will ensure that every part of the program is documented and recorded. In addition, they provide a back-up source of information in case any form of reference requires to be made. These equipment will increase the level of accuracy on the collected data (Bruce, 2013). Furthermore, this tool would still be necessary during the interviews that will be conducted on the participants. They will provide a record for that can be accessed in the future in case any form of clarification is necessary. In addition, the use of these equipment will also increase the level of accuracy that is witnessed in the treatment exercise. Accuracy is crucial because it makes the information gathered to be credible. The credibility of the information obtained is vital to the exercise.
Summary
The results of the evaluation will work to improve the quality of the treatment program in the future. The results obtained from the evaluation will provided adequate information on the best practices to engage in when conducting such an exercise in the future. The results from the evaluation provided the benefits and disadvantages of the proposed plan and will suggest various ways in which they can be rectified and improved for future practices. There is a target group of people that should be subjected to this treatment plan. This group of people include the elderly within the society who are experiencing fatigue pains. The proposed treatment plan should be tested before it can be executed. This will ensure that all the people within the community who deserve this treatment is accorded with the highest quality form of treatment for them. I think the results will be used in addressing these issues because they have been done in a manner that has increased the level of accuracy for them. In addition, the results will be well documented for future reference. This will ensure that they are used for many days to come in similar situations alike.
