Clearly, according to the well-researched accounts of Benjamin Freedman, a renowned American anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic activist, President Woodrow Wilson slogan on keeping the United States out of the first world war was just a pretext. It was meant to cover the objectives and intensions of the Zionists who had helped him ascend to power by supplying much money to the Democratic Party that he was affiliated to (Freedman, 1974). His war declaration was unavoidable but he acted out of pressure by the Zionists who had bailed him out from paying $40,000 to a woman who blackmailed him for adultery. Germany who was winning the First World War had declared they would not provoke the United States in anyway, not through the air, sea or attack on land. They were even offering Britain a treaty to surrender but the Zionists who initially wanted to see England fall were against this move. Therefore, the only way into war was to provoke Japan, and ally of Germany. This led to the Pearl Harbor bombings by the Japanese after they could not take further humiliation from U.S government that froze its assets and stopped supplies of crucial war materials such as oil and scrap steel (Freedman, 1974). Declaration of war on Japan after the Pearl Harbor bombings meant war against Germany as well because the two nations had signed a treaty to protect each other. Therefore, Woodrow Wilson declaration of war was unjustified because the Zionists who controlled the U.S president wanted to achieve their own objectives form the outcome of the war.
Before the declaration of war on Germany, the American public held a neutral position and did not want anything to do with the war. Trickery was used to sway public opinion and gain their support so that congress would finance the war. For instance, Zionists ran a false story on the media alleging that the Germans had bombed the S.S. Sussex ferry belonging to the Americans, in the process, 38 Americans lost their lives. The Zimmermann telegraph allegedly intercepted by the U.S authorities revealed Germany and Mexico were planning to attack the United States (Rosenberg). Critics believe it was a propaganda tool used to garner public support for the war effort by influential Zionists. These two propaganda stories outraged the American public and led congress to declare War against the Germans.
Freedman’s accounts on the events that transpired leading to the world first and second world wars do not contradict each other, therefore can be relied upon as truthful largely. Furthermore, Freedman back then was Jewish before he converted to Christianity, and he attended most of the meetings in person as one of the youngest Zionists whose duties included errands such as managing finances. Therefore, he gives us firsthand account and experience of the true events he witnessed with his own eyes in the Zionist discussion rooms where propaganda would be formulated to help them achieve their goal of spreading their sphere of influence with the ultimate aim of forming their own state in the Palestine region. For instance, Freedman narrates how the Zionists approached Britain when it was about to surrender to Germany during the First World War and promised to help then turn the tides in exchange for political support to the establishment of a Jewish state to which England agreed without hesitation. In a recap, Benjamin Freedman accounts on events leading to the war need to be studied carefully and lesson learnt to prevent such mistakes in the future.
