Aesthetic knowing refers to the knowing about the art of nursing. This is used to guide nurses action, the way they carry themselves in the public, their attitude and their narrative. Aesthetic knowing is a way by which nurses bring together all elements of nursing care to understand and find a wholesome meaning for a clinical situation. It helps to perceive a clinical situation, even without the exchange of words, interpret the information meaningfully and act accordingly. Empirics refers to the science that underlies the nursing practice. Nursing action is grounded in scientific knowledge and this imparts logical thinking and problem-solving abilities in the nurse.
