- The TigerEyeTech team went through the normal stages of group development. These stages are categorized into four phases.
Forming- At this point the team requires very clear aims, goals and objectives from a leader. CEO “JC” Larose knew that each member of the team was a leader with unique differences and talents. Even before the competition, the CEO compels the team to create goals and confirm a shared vision for the expectation.
Storming- At this stage the team addresses issues about the problems they are to solve, how they will work independently in unison and the leadership model they will accept. Even before the competition, we see the team being compelled by the CEO to create goals and confirm a shared vision for the expectation. These goals will be achieved by beating the challenges the team incurs.
Norming- At this level the team comes up with only one goal after a discussion. We realize this in the team especially when they sit down before the competition to plan their objectives at the end of the day.
Performing- The teams perform as a unit without any external supervision to find ways of how to get the job done smoothly. The team faced many challenges during the journey and therefore learned how to work together cohesively and trust each other in decision making.
- This is the greatest gain in any organization in making the perfect and positive decisions. It ensures that decision making follows a certain pattern in that members make decisions according to their strengths. It also gives an opportunity for consultation and assistance in areas one is poor at. This therefore provides that the members perform what they are best at.
- Individual weaknesses would be harmful for the team especially when faced with a major challenge in the absence of the team member who is believed to be strong or capacitated in solving the challenge. This can lead to a far reaching negative impact on the organization.
