Personal Statement
It is with clear conscious that education is the key to success, and without education, life can be pathetic, accompanied with a plethora of problems, and, this is clearly evinced in my family. My father was a high-school dropout and my mother never obtained the chance to complete her higher education, since she conceived at the age of 14. Life has been quite difficult all attributed to lack of quality education, and my mother had to take two odd jobs to keep the family going. In light with this, the urge and desire to get a prosperous life has always been the core motivating factor, to achieve the best in school. In tandem to this, my mother has also been the centre figure, in propelling me to achieve the best, since she is fully aware that, without education, I would end up like her. She also facilitated this by relocating the family to America from Jamaica, to attain a sustainable and peaceful environment for quality education.
My academic performance has been remarkably fantastic, and this has enabled me to enroll in various schools without rejection. In addition to this, I have participated in Mock Trial club, holding the position of the Vice President and as well having the privilege of being the Lead lawyer. The involvement in the club enabled me to expound on my thinking capabilities, and to gain the necessary knowledge for higher law education, through learning of the federal rules, preparation of closing statements, direct and cross examination, and the trial process. Similarly, I am conversant with community services, and I participated a lot in the homeless shelter in the provision of the necessary health facilities. I was also an assistant teacher, and I tutored several students in my school; also, I was on the fore front in fighting drugs abuse, and substances.
In relation to my objectives to eliminate poverty, it is utterly coherent that I get admission into an institution that will not only nurture me into achieving my career, but also build me to become an indispensable asset of change in the community, and my family. I am particularly interested in University of Central Florida, because of its quality education and easy access. Conventionally, I also believe that I will be a pivotal figure in the varsity, through participation in community service, fight against drugs and HIV/AIDS, and in giving talks on the importance of education.
