In 2010-2011 I studied Chemistry - Biology - Forensic & Environmental analysis. During that time, I performed a range of instrumental analytical techniques including GC - HPLC - AAS – Mass spectroscopy - Spectroscopic methods.
As I was a student in Forensic Chemistry - Toxicology - Evidence, Investigation & Police Intelligence (2012-2013). In 2014 I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science with distinction in Forensic Science, Biometry and high distinction in Chemistry from University of Western Sydney. I have sufficient practical forensic experience and am fully qualified to provide a Police Force resource for the forensic examination (Finger/Physical Evidence) of minor/volume crime scenes and examination of exhibits and scenes where non-complex techniques are required. With some additional practical training, I will be able to apply techniques of a biohazardous nature. I believe that providing a Police Force resource for the forensic examination and examination of exhibits and scenes can be fulfilled by me, as I am equipped with strong knowledge base for the same. Given a chance to gain some practical experience, I will present a high-qualified and cooperative employee.
• Relevant post-secondary technical/scientific qualifications or substantial progress towards an equivalent qualification or extensive relevant experience in the field of investigation/forensic science.
Although I do not possess official career experience in investigation/forensic science, my academic background qualified for post-secondary technical/scientific qualifications. During my studies for Bachelor’s degree from University of Western Sydney, I took classes for Digital Forensic Photography, Biometry, Forensic Science, Forensic and Environmental Analysis, Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Analysis of Physical Evidence, Forensic Archaeology, Forensic Chemistry, Complex Forensic Case Studies, and Laboratory Quality Management. Thus, I have been paving my way toward obtaining relevant academic knowledge within the field of Forensic Science and related fields and am now aiming at getting first-hand practical experience in Crime Scene Services Branch. I am also fully qualified to maintain an awareness of developments in Forensic Sciences relevant to the services provided by the Forensic Services Group.
• Knowledge of or aptitude for photography.
I have a great knowledge and practical experience for photography and feel comfortable and qualified when it comes to photography and am familiar with many aspects and peculiarities on this subject, as I am quite experienced in the field. I also received credit for Digital Forensic Photography as I was obtaining my Bachelor’s in Forensic Science in both 2010 Autumn Session and 2011 Spring Session (year 2014), in which case it was closely related to Forensic Science and my future engagement into the position of Scene of Crime officer. I am also qualified at maintaining facilities and technical equipment to the highest possible standards. This will also help me present technical evidence in criminal proceedings and other judicial inquiries.
• Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
My analytical skills were enriched as I was writing scientific laboratory report and critically evaluate the relevance of forensic chemistry to professional forensic practice as a student of Forensic Chemistry - Toxicology - Evidence, Investigation & Police Intelligence in 2012-2013. During the same period, I was also applying advanced knowledge of a range of chemical testing to forensic investigation and give evidence of the underlying chemical and physical principles, which qualified for conceptual and analytical skills. My excellent problem solving skills will allow me to liaise with other areas of the police force, including operational police and other forensic officers. Also, if I am required to perform other related duties, I will not have any difficulties in carrying out additional responsibilities and take decisions on-spot, multi-task, and act quickly and wisely in cases of emergency.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
My GPA upon graduation with Bachelor’s degree from University of Western Sydney was 3.8, which means my high level of academic achievements and implies my skillful usage of oral and written communication skills. I completed numerous written scientific laboratory reports when studying Forensic Science and passed them with success, which qualifies for my outstanding written skills. Also, I was preparing quality management documentation, including sections of a Laboratory Quality Manual, as a student in Advance Organic/Inorganic Chemistry - Analytical Chemistry - Laboratory Quality Management (2011-2012), which makes me prepared for future professional writing activity, as for preparing briefing notes and maintain case records, data and other correspondence as required by the Commander, and on issues relevant to the examination of minor/volume crime scenes.
• Excellent customer service skills.
Communication and cooperation with other people have always been a joyful experience for me. I am fully qualified for cooperating with Forensic Services Group and other departments. I put a great emphasis on customer service and corporate values. I am ready to work on holidays and weekends as well.
• Required to participate in security vetting procedures prior to appointment.
I am ready to participate in this unit of pre-appointment preparations, as I fully understand the necessity of this requirement. I am also ready to participate in professional training, development and assessment programs in order to be fully prepared and qualified for performing all duties efficiently and effectively to achieve the corporate goals of NSW Police Force.
• Current NSW driver's licence with a clear driving record for past 12 months.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
I consider relevant health and safety training obligatory to attend, as the questions of safety and health are crucial when it comes to any specialization of profession, Scene of Crime Officer in particular. As Forensic Services Groups deal with forensic examination, maintain facilities and equipment to high standards, cooperate with other departments of police force, etc., on a regular basis, proper addressing of health issues, risks and their prevention, as well as risks and issues associated with safety during the investigation process of fulfilling any other duties is vitally important for being fully and successfully engaged into the work process and be familiar with actions needed to be undertaken in cases of emergency. I will comply with the requirements of Occupational Health and Safety regarding minor/volume crime scene examinations.
