Umberto Eco talks about the idea of creating an experience for the public. He talks about the way the phenomenon shows itself specifically in America. While Eco has mixed feelings on if hyperactive, reality is good or not. Eco believes that hyperactive reality shows itself in America’s portrayal of history, nature architecture, and entertainment among other things. According to Eco believes that Americans like entertainment and therefore they intertwined hyperactive reality into our lives.
In the American’s portrayal of history, they make always tend to portray reality in whatever they do. Instead, of designing simple things, the museum in America always “recreate things in such a way that someone observing becomes unable to differentiate real things and the fake ones. In architecture and art, the Americans do try to make modified real things which are attractive and inspiring. In other words, they make almost the exact copy of fake ones to look real. In support of their art and architecture world, Americans have build up many places for entertainment purposes. Americans strongly believe in entertainment and the world of fantasies and therefore many entertainment sites have been built across America.
In their attempt to recreate nature, the Americans have tried several times to come up with utopian animal. This has been done through recreating nature. Despite the fact that Eco provide controversial perception about Americans, it is extremely difficult to validate some of his assumptions concerning America. Though many people believe that Americans are very creative people and the power house of the world, the way Eco portray them can make different individuals to believe that they like developing or constructing fake things. However, it is not easy to accept some of the assumptions that are being brought to light by Eco. For instance, the assumptions that Americans always try to make fake things look real may not apply in all areas. For instance, it may not apply in the manufacturing industry but instead it can apply in the entertainment industry. Therefore, I strongly believe that the principle of generalization which Eco is trying to apply here is totally wrong.
According to eco, we need to abandon our identities and cars aside as we enter to the dreamland since human beings gear into endless lines to have the time of our lives. Eco believes that though it is very normal to cry on Earth because at times it is viewed by many as not being the happiest place. According to Eco, individuals should not be obsessed so much by real things. They should not believe that only real things can perform as opposed to the modified real ones or fake. He advices individuals that they are likely to give up easily with real things compared to the modified fake ones. In order to ascertain his statement, he visited the Mississippi river where he realizes that the It is normal real allegators were not as exciting as the modified ones he had seen in Disneyland. However, he caution that Disneyland is a place of total positivity and therefore individuals visiting have to agree to behave like its robots. Although hyperactive reality is normal for humans, it should not be forced upon nature. According to eco, the knowledge of the preserving the endangered plant and animals life is good, but need not to use as the idea of turning them into circus animals for our enjoyment. According to him, human beings make animals their burden .Eco asks whether the conditions subjected to animals are truly realistic for the animals, and whether these the animals enjoy the conditions and treatment subjected to them or not.
Americans should be proud of their hyperactive reality because no other nation has managed to achieve what Americans have achieved especially in the world of entertainment. Eco believe that hyper reality is Americans way of life and history and that it is recognised all over the world.
Hyper reality describes various re-creations and themes that have been made in our environments in attempt to beautify it .according to Eco, American to create fabrications that look real. This is done so as develop something that is more beautiful and attractive. The Americans believe in beauty and therefore love creating very attractive and beautiful things than the real ones.
