The period in life of every person when he/she becomes a student is always special and always important. Within this short time, the person has to learn so much, has to develop so many useful skills that will determine a lot of success in the future. Thus, it is important to create such conditions for students that make this process smoother for them. I believe that student association clubs help students better understand their needs and possibilities, unite their efforts and achieve the best possible results in their education and social life.
At first, it can seem that association clubs are made just for students’ fun. Such a conclusion can be made, because students usually like attending meetings of such clubs and talk about some common topics (Stolle 392). I am sure that speaking with people that have same interests is very important for students’ development and forming the necessary skills. Besides, it allows them to get the valuable experience in the field of interest and see the latest tendencies in it, share some secrets that each of them discover. Thus, participation in association clubs adds life to the students’ interests and general education.
Another reason why association clubs are useful for students is that joining them gives every member the possibility to develop communication skills and the possibility to act in a team. When meeting members of their clubs, students have a possibility to discuss many different questions and issues. They learn how to defend their point of view, how to make it clear for all the listeners, what reaction their words can bring about. All of this teaches them how to interact in the world of business – where thy will live in the future. Moreover, working in teams teaches them how to make the work process smooth and useful for all the members of the team and how it is possible to reach the best possible result.
Finally, I believe that association clubs make students’ life more complete and diverse. If students have only certain classes to go to, it is of course good, but not complete (Butte College Associated Students 1). To learn more, to develop the necessary skills they have to try applying their knowledge in different conditions, with different people, which gives them more practice and flexibility in their experience. In the future, they will have more opportunities to apply this diverse experience and to feel more confident about themselves. I believe that having a lot of valuable knowledge is just useless if you do not know how to use it in practice. When participating in such association clubs all students can practice showing their skills and knowledge to general audience and this is the kind of experience that needs constant practice. I think that it is especially good that in the clubs they can meet diverse audience with different viewpoints and personal experience, as it creates simulation of real-world media, in which students will have to demonstrate and apply their knowledge in future. In this way, association clubs provide great possibilities to all the participants.
