Who I am
I am 23 years old lad born in Mississippi and raised at Texas. While growing up, my parents had a large plantation farm with many workers. My father had several managers who run his businesses and also his plantations. Observing the directors and those in power, I noticed that there were qualities that they lacked which affected negatively to the developing of my father’s businesses. This motivated me to become a manager one day.
What I pursue.
I pursue a degree in Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Honk Kong. Having seen the managers at my father’s empire conduct managerial responsibilities, which motivated me to pursue a degree where I will also run my own businesses and also be my own manager.
What I think of a Manager.
Being a manager is had earned and it needs perseverance and patience. Being a manager, I learned that there were qualities that one had to meet in order to be an effective manager. One was motivating the employees. I learned that workers are not only stirred by cash but mostly by encouragements, a feeling of togetherness, socializing and even offering perks to them.
Secondly, I also learned that a manager should set organizational goals. A manager should on a regular basis remind their employees about the goals of the organization, which in turns empowers them. A manager should also delegate responsibilities to the employees a practice of splitting up labor.
A good manager should also enhance and encourage communication within the organization. They should provide a channel where employees can forward their complain and feedbacks to the concerned department. Nevertheless, a good manager should never dismiss an apprehension of any employee, in fact, a manager should treat all employees the equally.
Empathy is another quality that a manager should exhibit. This means that he/she can understand how people feel, why they feel so, and what can be done to make them feel differently. A manager should also demonstrate their leadership quality. A manager should be able to persuade people to follow him/he.
