Carrot Principle book by Adrian is a piece of advice for the managers. The book shows the core characteristic of prosperous managers is showering their staffs with efficient and frequent recognition (Gostick & Elton, 2007). With recognition, there is a success, and good results are attained at every career level, age group, and culture. The book demonstrate how to praise and meaningful rewards give powerful motivations to people in all life aspects and inspire employees on engagement, excel, and put their best effort in everyday work.
The book has given me a personal motivation when it comes to leadership. From the book, it is essential for all leaders to work with their employees and motivate them. When workers are motivated, they put extra effort into work and do not have to wait to be pushed around by their managers. A good manager applying The Carrot Principle achieves very high engagement, retention of staffs, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
The book is essential for any person willing to take a leadership or managerial role. With a perfect understanding of the Carrot Principle, a manager will manage his or her employees well and ensure the firm will be productive. From the book, I have discovered that for the success of a company, management should not only concentrate on customers, but give focus to the employees too (Gostick & Elton, 2007). The customers should be given the priority when it comes to the welfare of the company.
It is essential for a company to have managers who provide support to the staffs as well as the customers. When clients and the workers are fully satisfied, the productivity of the organization will be high, and the chances of success of the firm are greater than when the customers are the only ones given the attention.
