How mission and vision can guide managers or employees
The vision and mission of a company play a great role in communicating the goals and the purpose of the organization to its employees and managers. It is worth noting that it helps them to have a clear understanding of what the organization wants them to do within a specified period. It gives them a sense of direction on where to start and where to end their operations. The vision and mission assist the company in making decisions, planning for the future, strategizing and developing a good relationship with its stakeholders.
Lack of mission and vision effects to the organization
Lack of vision or mission within an organization creates communication among the managers and employees. This is to mean that they operate without understanding what they want to achieve. As a matter of fact, it makes them lazy because there is no direction on how activities of the organization should flow. Besides, it leads to poor strategy formulation since the members of the organization do not know the purpose of the business. The company may lack proper plans that may encourage the formulation of strategies to assist in promoting efficiency within the company (Arunsimha, 2007).
Nonetheless, the management may fail to know the knowledge and skills required by employees to ensure the success of the company. On the other hand, the company may fail to have a common objective that can unite the employees and assist in forming strong working teams. This is because the employees lack an understanding of what they are required to do in the organization.
