Curiosity comes first, embrace the mess, and practice reflection are three golden rules of wisdom provided by Ramsay Musallam to teachers and educators, although require attention from people belonging to every walk of life. I believe the rules are the foundation of learning. Without curiosity, no person engages itself in the exercise to gain knowledge or seek truth. History also shows this as a curiosity became the basic factor that led to great inventions and discoveries. The process of trial and error is evident in our daily lives as this is related to all those things we are highly interested in and keep trying for its success. Personal reflection is the final stage where we establish a sound decision.
How personal shift on approach can enhance my learning experience needs a very detailed answer. This must be borne that a personal shift in approach to education or work cannot take place until the notion of curiosity does not work at its fullest. Curiosity cannot be created; it comes from within. Depending on personal preferences there are many tasks that we enjoy and many that we do not. The reason is the interest and curiosity that makes us perform that task with great enthusiasm. Hence, a personal shift on approach cannot take place on every subject or field, but the ones that are preferred by personal attitude and choices.
I do not agree with the notion that becoming cultivators of our own curiosity can enhance our learning experience as I believe that the curiosity cannot be created or eliminated. This is something that comes naturally. Someone feels curious in the working of the nature; someone may be more curious regarding the space and universe. Various fields of education or work process intrigue us differently. Hence, we cannot be the cultivators but it comes without our effort regarding specific aspects.
