The constant amelioration of management strategies and policies are essential to achieve success of any organization. Increased technological advances and globalization have opened up space for competition and more actors are joining the service industries. The medical field is not an exception. Indeed, any organization that seeks to make profits out of the goods it sells or services it renders must adopt and implement sophisticated business management strategies to stay in the game. In the case study, Javier Perez, who has recently graduated from a respectable business school in the United States recognizes this fact. He comes up with a number of proposals on how their partnership can make management changes to ensure they continue to attract clients. He approaches his colleagues and informs them of his suggestions. He opines that the partnership should develop and maintain a sophisticated website where clients can conduct a virtual tour of the hospital and the services it renders. He also suggests that they approach the Surgical Review Corporation who will give them a stamp of approval. He argues that this will help position their services strategically. Professional wise, he suggests that all partners should join the American Society of the Bariatric Surgery and this fact should be reflected on the website. They should also create a promotional video, which will be uploaded on YouTube, and employ a salesman to give talks about their services in the Southern parts of America.
Indeed, the proposals submitted by Javier are well-thought and essential for the future survival of their partnership. Organizations should embrace technologies such as the World Wide Web to broadcast their services in order to get more clients. The fact that traditional methods of offering good services to clients has worked in the past is not an excuse not to adopt new and better strategies. Failure to change may occasion a gradual decline of their business. It will end up becoming insignificant as other players in the market will adopt more sophisticated management approaches and strategies not only to attract new clients, but also to instill a sense of loyalty in their clientele bases.
This paper recommends that the partners should give a thought to the proposals put forth by Javier. Javier is resourceful skilled and well trained. He would be valuable in implementing the change. Indeed, a sophisticated website can enable clients understand what services they offer including getting audience to potential clients from Asia, Africa, America and Europe. The stamp of approval form the Surgical Review Corporation will improve their standings thus giving them an advantage over competitors and quacks. The greatest asset of a surgeon is his skills. By joining the American Society of Bariatric Surgery and indicating thus on their website, they will be joining an elite group thus positioning themselves with the best the world can offer. Indeed, private hospitals just like any other business enterprises have to sell their services to their potential clientele. The idea of creating a promotional video and employing a salesman is not only desirable, but equally essential. The argument that these changes will require a lot of resources to implement does not hold any water. The few resources and labor expensed will be significantly outweighed by the benefits accrued when all these changes are fully implemented.
