Centrum Multivitamin for Adults under 50
Centrum multivitamin provides a broad range of minerals and vitamins including new beneficial nutrients such as Lycopene and Lutein. This multivitamin should be used by adults aged below 50 years. Centrum must be taken with normal solid food in order to prevent stomach discomfort and to enhance absorption.

The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for minerals and vitamins is as follows; Vitamin A-900 mcg (males), 700 mcg (females); Vitamin D- 600 IU; Vitamin E-15 mg; Vitamin K-120 mcg (females), 90 mcg (females); vitamin C-90 mg (Males), 75 mg (females); Thiamine-1.2 mg (men) 1.1 (women); Riboflavin-1.3 mg. The RDA for macro minerals is as follows; sodium-1,500mg potassium- 4700 mg, Calcium-100 mg Phosphorus-700 mg and magnesium-420 mg (males), 320 mg (females) (USDA, 2012).
Centrum is able to provide these minerals at the recommended dietary allowance for adults. Most of the students in college are adults; therefore, they can achieve the recommended daily intake for minerals and vitamins by taking centrum. Some students’ vitamins and minerals requirements may differ from those of normal adults. This may be due to physiological factors such as illness or pregnancy.
Vitamin and mineral toxicity can occur if supplements are taken in excess or alongside other medications. In addition, sick or pregnant people should seek the opinion of a medical professional before taking centrum. Toxicity may result in headache, stomach discomfort, nausea and confusion (USDA, 2012).
