Faith played a great part in the lives of millions people during the development of the society. It is true that it was the reason for wars and discoveries. However, the advanced level of technology and science caused the weakening of religion throughout the world. In his article for the Telegraph, Stanley write that science becomes more important for the post-Christian countries (2015). This means that any existing religion is in danger of extinction. On the other hand, such technological development led to the secularization – the state of independence of the government from the religion. Nowadays, Christianity is a personal choice and not the obligatory thing. Besides, religion does not, or at least should not influence the political decisions. However, this is true for the Christian beliefs. The issue is completely different when one refers to Islam. According to Stanley, one of the main differences between Christianity and Islam is that the first is based on the Greek philosophy. Thus, the religion is based on the emphasis of reason (Stanley, 2015). On the contrary, Islam is based on the pure belief in the God. Therefore, the Western world cannot accept Islam because of its religiosity, and Islam cannot accept the aggressive secularism and westernization. Secularization has become one of the main challenges of Islam as it can guarantee the functioning of the religion. Moreover, according to journalists it can solve the problem of terrorism, which is often associated with Muslims (Ganji, 2015; Benchemsi, 2015).
