Perhaps, these changes are inevitable, but its impacts affect both nurses and patients at different levels. Technology touches every aspect of human life; it is specifically immensely helpful in the nursing career. Nurses are particularly important people in the health care field, they support the doctors, but in the long run, they end up performing most of the activities that the patients need.

The struggle to make cost effective affects both patients and nurses. The measures have led to compromise of health care delivery service among the nurses, since it affects them financially. The patients benefit in terms of cost reduction, but they do not achieve the intended goal of seeking healthcare. Perhaps, the cutting of cost leads to usage of ineffective healthcare equipments and facilities. The patients will not access high-tech equipment because costs have been reduced; the health care institutions are not in a position to buy modern healthcare facilities.

In most countries, the measures used affect the nurses because their remuneration will be re-adjusted to fit the cost that the healthcare institutions can offer. In the contemporary health care institutions, some services are hugely expensive yet the quality of patient care is very low, meaning the cost effective measures implemented are not critical. In most scenarios, conflict of interest develops due to cost effective measures that are implemented by healthcare institutions. The conflicts parties include patients, healthcare institutions, government and nurses. Therefore, healthcare institutions cost effective in the negative thing that has happened in nursing, since it compromises the ultimate goal of health care.
