The organizational purpose and goals are necessary for a successful professional life. They serve as the guiding principles for actions, channel and direct the efforts of employees (Oliver & Jacobs, 2007). Moreover, they also provide the required parameters and tools that are necessary for strategic planning, resource allocation and identification of the development and growth opportunities. Every person has set his preference and purpose for the future life and he/she wants to achieve this purpose for improving the standard of living of his/her life and provide comfort to his/her family. In this paper, my organizational purpose, my actions for achieving the purpose and its ultimate influence on myself, my family, community and my leadership style is discussed in detail.
My organizational purpose is to be a business owner in the future. This purpose is a source of motivation for me because it present challenges and also directs me the right way for achieving the goal. The company that is operating and the individuals who are working without a purpose just have unclear ideas, and they do not know what they are supposed to perform. Such people have work to do, but it is usually disorganized, improper and in such cases the emphasis is on short term goals that do not guarantee success (Berry, 1994).
In order to fulfill my purpose of the business owner, I am completing my MBA. I have chosen to complete Master if Business Administration due to the fact that it will help me to get knowledge about every functional and operational area of this field i.e., business. It will also help me to develop entrepreneur skills. The subjects such as management, finance, marketing, accounting, production operation management, information systems and Human Resource management are taught in MBA that equip an individual with sufficient knowledge that is required for a businessmen or business owner. In the classes of these subjects, the real and the current business life situations are discussed that help in building the needed knowledge and also they assists in developing confidence in individuals for their professional lives. Furthermore, it helps me to design a well coordinated strategy and also assists in effectual implementation of the strategy that is necessary for the success of the business and to manage the business during hard times.
Having an ambition to be a business owner is a source of satisfaction and happiness for me, my family, my community and ultimately for the surrounding world because a successful business will influence all the people in the related area and the reason of contentment for them. With my established business, many people will be benefitted as my business will be able to satisfy their needs and wants. This will also influence my leadership style. It helps me to develop democratic leadership style that promotes mutual assistance, commitment, cooperation, talent and friendliness (Alkahtani, Abu-Jarad, Sulaiman, & Nikbin, 2011). My democratic style of leadership will encourage my team members to participate in the process of decision making and their decision will be given worth before reaching at the final decision.
In a nut shell, having an organizational purpose is essential for the successful and happy life of an individual. A person gets clarity in his actions and achievement of the aim becomes easier for him/her. I am achieving my organizational goal of becoming an owner of the business by completing my MBA degree, which is facilitating me with the business information. This is also helping me to develop a friendly leadership style i.e., a democratic style for leading and motivating people effectively.
