According to psychology, ways parents talk to their kids has a big impact on their learning and ability to listen to them. Parents are the first and very essential teacher to children. It’s harder to be fashionable as one get older. However, it is easier to be educated. RIAA was established to guide parents by placing a number of distinguished resources. Music almost varies with age, not all music is appropriate to all ages.
The music industries have a mandatory responsibility to help and guide parents to conclude what is appropriate for their kids. This led to establishment of Parental Advisory Label Program by the record companies. The PMRC came into standpoint when there was wide spread of sexually explicit lyrics. The program have become a tool to aid parents make the options about whether and when their kids should listen to particular recording. Music is said to be tremendous tool and very educative tool in fostering dialogue as well as understanding across generations.
The PMRC had goals and objectives that guided each and every step they made. The main objective was to make sure the explicit covers are kept under the counter and review all contracts of performer in concerts engage in explicit sexual behavior and violence behavior on stage. The great impact is RIAA later on, due to fear of losing money, they started putting stickers on albums which comprise violence, profanity and sexual content specified Parental Advisory Explicit Lyrics.
The accomplishment of PMRC mission did not hit the target since artist will always be able to express their ideas via music besides what kind of sticker gets put on their albums. Censorship is a main body that limits true communication and expression since it allows ideas to be controlled. According to the statistic from my peer, I don’t think there could be problem since music does not turn people into social liabilities.
