Any organization that desires to venture the international market, initially needs to have a plan on how to carry out its operations in a new market. Since an international market typically means that the business will involve people that were not part of the business during its inception. It is, therefore, important that the business in particular Crazy Horse company to formulate a structured plan for personnel in China. This will enable Crazy Horse Company to run swiftly and with minimum difficulty. The personnel in Crazy Horse Company plays a vital role in ensuring that the product is made with the expected standards as well as its distribution to the consumer is achieved and in good time.
Crazy Horse Company firstly need to have a general manager for its new production line in China. The general manager will oversee all the firm’s sales and marketing functions, in addition the manager will be accountable for the day-day activities of the company. The manager will be accountable to the chief executive officer(s) of Crazy Horse Company. As in many companies the firm also needs to have departmental heads. For example, the firm should have the sales department head, the packaging department head, the storage department head. These individuals play a vital role in overseeing the operations in their areas and are accountable for any query that may arise in their department. However, Crazy Horse Company being a small company may be unable to hire the services of all this departmental heads. This move may be considered once the company grows much bigger, and it becomes difficult to run without their contribution. The organization structure of the Crazy Horse company is horizontal. It allows direct contact between the senior staff such as a manager, and another executive staff with the low-ranking employees, such as; the technicians, engineers, IT specialists, operators, etc. This type of an organization structure allows for the decentralization of duties. This implies that the employees are charged with the responsibility of making decisions on behalf of the company at times.Employees as a result feel appreciated and that indeed they count in the operation of the business. (Payne&Frow 2013)
The Crazy Horse Company should seek for the human resource both locally and in the host country china. This is because the workers who are native Canadians will be able to facilitate the production better before the locals get accustomed to the production process. In addition to hiring the locals, will create a good rapport with the natives and also with the Chinese government. An approximation of about three hundred works inclusive of both locals and Canadians may be good for a start. It is highly recommended that the Crazy Horse Company recruits by itself and also utilize the services of local hiring agents to employ. The newly admitted staff needs to be trained in their job description and the code to observe. In the marketing department since, this is a new country the local professionals should be preferred. I addition in case of any legal issue that the company may encounter in the near future the company should by the services of local lawyers.(Levine& Fleming1987).
In any company, the need to do performance appraisal, after a period cannot be overlooked. It forms part of the growth of the company as well as keeping the spirit of the employees high. The Crazy Horse Company being a new brand in China needs to motivate its employees to own the product and be able to promote its production and sale.
The Chinese people are very reserved in their traditions, therefore cultivating a good customer relationship with the people will be equally valuable to the company.
The Crazy Horse Company also needs to outsource its functions to other local companies so that it can deliver the products on time and in a strategic way. This process may be facilitated by working with local firms, for example, to bottle the drink. This delegation of bottling relieves the company only to concentrate on production of the product. As a result, there is the creation of job opportunity to the unemployed Chinese population. (shek&Brosseau1993).
China is a growing economy, and most of its labor or task force is made up of the people between the ages of 20-45. This is a youthful age that the company should target, and they should incorporate marketing strategies that are youth friendly because the crazy horse drink is an energy drink. This can be achieved by incorporating the services of youthful personnel in the advertising department. This factor will benefit the government in dealing with the growing and youthful task force. Further, it will also make the Crazy Horse company compete fairly with other stakeholders in the industry(shek&Brosseau, 1993).
The human resource department is the most instrumental department in any organization. The personnel either work towards the success of any business enterprise or its failure. Their level of involvement may differ one to another, but they all contribute immensely to the greater good of the company.
