Every organization needs successful leaders for better productivity. Decisions made by the management determine how the subordinates will function and carry out their duties. With laziness and poor decisions from the management, the staffs will lack motivation and the firm will end up becoming unproductive or may have to opt out of the market.
As a good operations manager, there is the need to know the current state of the organization you are to get involved. In the process, the manager will determine how activities have been running, who does what in the company, and when it is done. The information retrieved from this process will be very helpful since a manager will know the capabilities of the company and its staffs.
Once the current state of the enterprise is established, there is a need to concentrate on the desired achievements. The company has the set goals that may not have been achieved, may be because of weak operations. The operations manager should check the set goals and design mechanisms to meet them, and the process should involve the employees so that they feel part of the decision (Ryapukhina et al. 117-125). Achievement of the set goals may be a challenge in the case where the employees are not involved since they will feel not part of the process. Resources such as capital, human labor, and time will be essential, and if the company cannot afford them, it will result in a barrier towards achieving the targets.
The business must have a well-established mission and vision to lead it towards achieving the desired goals in production. A good leader must involve the subordinates in the decision-making process, should lead by an example, be ready to listen before acting, and be a critical thinker to help solve any challenging situations that may arise. With a good leader and well-established goals in a company, it will be simple to coordinate the employees and achieve the targets with ease.
