I am against the present Obamacare and it has not changed at all. From the information that I have gathered, Obamacare will make medications, doctors’ fees, and other expensive treatments have predefined prices that are defined and regulated by the government (Horwitz & Levy 2). Even though this will help in preventing doctors, pharmacies, and hospitals from overcharging patients, thereby making healthcare less expensive, the public will have to part with large sums of money in terms of taxes to pay for such services. Some argue that Obamacare will make health care services available to people regardless of the size of their wallets. In my opinion, it is the rich and those who earn more who will eventually feel the burden of paying for health insurance to those who earn less.
The United States has a large population in comparison to other countries such as Canada, which would make the amount of taxes relatively high in order to make health care services available to everyone. Those earning more will have to part with large amounts of money to ensure that they get the health services that they require. Obamacare will ensure that the government regulates the health care industry, which will lower the quality of health care services in the United States (Perlstein & Duffy 3). Take an example of Canada where there is Medicare. In Canada, it is continually becoming hard to get qualified doctors and quality medical services since most of the doctors are moving into other countries such the United States where they are free to charge for their services in whichever way they feel.
The Obamacare will impose colossal penalties on small businesses, young workers, and others who choose not to buy the expensive health insurance come 2014. The health insurance only targets one interest group, which is the health insurance industry in the history of America. According to the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), the Obamacare will do no good but only increase the overall cost of health care for the citizens of the United States, in addition to reducing the quality of health care, something that a free market system would otherwise provide. Obamacare makes mandatory for citizens to buy health insurance, which involuntarily pays sex offenders to use Viagra, and abortions.
People will have to pay large fines for failure to purchase the government imposed health insurance fund. Majority of American citizens are able to afford health care even without the need for this expensive health insurance (Healey 1). In other states such as Massachusetts, which have had such program in place for several years, have seen more people choosing to pay the penalties instead of purchasing the insurance (Mears & Cohen 1). This is an indication that the majority are not for the idea. Some also argue that that tax is going to affect the stock market since people will have to dig much into their pockets to pay for health care insurance. Obamacare will also force some insurance providers out of business since the government is planning to control the industry.
