Critical Thinking: Responses M2
Part I
This is a noble line of qualitative research. The issue of limited number of women rising to higher leadership both within and without the education sector has been a major concern. However, your research is based on the supposition that there is limited data and literature coverage based on the perspectives of women who have not chosen to rise to high positions of educational leadership. One of the questions that I would like to pose is whether this assertion founded. There might be lots of research on this topic out there. Your connection to the topic is a great idea, but for any research to be effective and thorough, it has to be narrow. Narrowing down to one idea would make your research more solid, succinct, and something that is difficult to deconstruct. In this regard, I am of the view that your qualitative research can be narrowed down to a maximum of two questions. In this way, you as a scholar can be in a position to be thorough in your research process. Finally, the organization of ideas is excellent but there is a need to narrow down the research to fewer questions to enhance conciseness. Part 2:
This research is not based on grounded theory. The research seems to take the position that positivism would produce better research results compared to conducting normative research on this topic. There is a huge gap in the current literature and what this research intends to address. This research perceives current research regarding the topic as being inadequate. The data available regarding the quality of the education system is more include to the American society, but does not offer special focus to the Hispanic population. This research provides a new approach that is value-free and one which seeks to specifically focus on the outcomes of the education process with regards to the Hispanic population. One of the things that the researcher should avoid is the use of personal opinions and values within the research. In this way, the research results that emanates from the research process with be credible and purely based on an empirical research method.
