Values go hand in hand with ethics, and together they direct the organization towards the right direction of ensuring good performance. In any organization, both the employees and the employer have values to uphold to ensure success. On the side of employees, it is important for them to show cooperation among themselves when performing their duties. When employees develop the sense of cooperation within the organization, it becomes easier to handle all the issues that may arise in an organization thus promoting efficiency (Amigo, 2014).
Also, employees have the duty to ensure punctuality in all the activities they conduct in the organization. Time management is an important value that helps improve on delivering quality work and meeting deadlines as stipulated. Besides, honesty and integrity values are very vital for the employees as who need to grow professionally and who are ready to foster good productivity. Above all, commitment is a value that all employees should embrace within the organization. Employees need to take every work very seriously and be ready to give their best.
Furthermore, the employer needs to have various values that would promote a conducive working environment for the employees. The employees require a comfortable working environment where stress does not exist. It is among the duties of the employer to ensure equality for all members of the organization. The employer needs to foster equality in handling all the matters related to employees and avoid discrimination at all times.
Moreover, the employer should have all the employees in his or her heart. As an employer, it is important to ensure employees comply with stipulated ethical principles and values of the organization. The employer should thus communicate the values and ethical code to all employees as one way of promoting compliance. On the other hand, the employer should involve his or her employees in continuous training on matters related to ethics and organizational values. Exercising all these values promotes efficiency and productivity in the organization (Amigo, 2014).
