Dear Mr. President:
It is my great honor to write you concerning why Earth Science is important in education curriculum for K -6 education in the United Sates. I would like to ask a little of your time to please listen to my way of expressing my thoughts with regards to the benefits of Earth Science knowledge that provides to the society most especially in education.
People live on Earth and every day or every moment of the day is connected in some way to Earth. We connect to Earth to land, ocean, atmosphere, animals, plants, and other living things that exist. I believe that Earth Science education is the only through way for the students for them to possibly comprehend and be grateful for to mother Earth. The future of Earth Science literacy is indeed the future itself and lies in every hand of the people such as young people, adults, school heads, and elected government officials, especially your Excellency is of great advantage pertaining to your unwavering support to Mother Nature.
Earth Science benefits everyone, every civilization depends on how we truly comprehend and handle our planet carefully. Human beings are directly affected by the Earth system; we in return greatly affect our planet as well. People are empowered by Earth Science, each and everyone to sincerely believe and perform according to passion and heartfelt concern globally.
Earth Science creates well – informed citizens, provides interdisciplinary and integrated approaches to a genuine comprehension to our planet. In Earth Science, there are queries that are challenging and at the same time sensible to young generation and even adults alike. Some of the questions; why the state of California always experience earthquakes. What can people do regarding some beaches eroding? Where will people find fuel to power up their land vehicles and private planes in the future? Where can people find portable or fresh water to consume? In what way can a grade school student assist to care for his environment? Earth Science issues and problems are can go well with for an inquiry – based approaches in education, an educational processes that most intimately bear a resemblance to the authenticity of scientific challenges.
Earth Science builds careers for life, every need continuously growing in importance. As concerned human beings, we must make Earth Science education as a priority at all aspects in life. As a united society, we need to strongly face and embrace the increasing demands of the future to come.
In fact, Earth Science has been part of the education curriculum in the United Sates schools or institution for more than a millennium. Earth Science really makes it happened; the National Science Education Standards (NSES) and the Benchmarks for Science Literacy describe science literacy and reiterate the centrality of Earth Science in education. State science frameworks across different states in the country remind that Earth science is
essential for all students and every school in every state should include Earth Science topics in the curriculum available from kindergarten to K – 12, specifically in K – 6.
Recently, some astronauts had the first view of our planet from space, they are amazed to witness how beautiful, and how delicate our home appeared like a pale blue dot and very different from the other planets in the solar system. As a full description of planet Earth as our home, Earth is blue with water, white with clouds, and green with life. Our planet is unique in the solar system and rare in the whole universe.
I hope that all the thoughts and ideas I personally explained to you can make you be more inspired about mother earth and how Earth Science essential to every human being in this universe. Most especially, Earth Science is of great help to every student in school, in every state in United States of America.
