In your first paragraph, explain why this film was so instrumental in launching the "New Hollywood" approach of the late 60s and 70s.
Easy Rider is an American Film produced and directed in 1969, by Fonda and Hopper respectively. The film is about two bikers, Fonda and Hopper who are fond of adventuring though American southwestern and southern. The success of this film was very instrumental in sparking the New Hollywood phenomenon in the early 1960s and 1970s. The film looks at the society scenery, issues, anxieties that America suffered throughout 1960s, for instance, reign, and collapse of hippie movement, abuse of drug and the societal lifestyle. During this period, Hollywood encountered numerous crises, and most of the challenges were unrelenting. Most of these predicaments commenced during the postcolonial war period and ended in the late 60s and 70s, when the Hollywood studios suffered huge fiscal crisis. The collapse of the Hollywood system because of societal, political, fiscal and technologic factors led to the launching of the New Hollywood approach, in which young people greatly contributed towards the production of the film. Stylistic ways in which this film clearly takes influence from European cinema movements of the postwar era
Most of the European Cinema Movements gained reputation from their production by young filmmakers. They had a great impact on development of various films, for instance, their production, marketing and the approaches used in production. Technical, European cinema movements used various stylistic ways that had a great influence in production of Easy rider. For instance, most of the cinema movements used editing to cause artistic effect. In easy rider, hoper uses editing to prefigure the film’s climax.
