PART 1: 7 Tips To Nail A Skype Interview
Look the part. Do your part to dress and look professional.
Prepare your surroundings. Make your background more office-like.
Practice it first. Try how you look and your style of interview with a friend.
Don’t forget to smile. This would make you look more alive and pleasant during the interview.
Stay present. Be sharp in listening to what they are saying.
Go ahead and cheat. You can have notes and answers all in front of you without them knowing it.
PART 2
There are three formats for your cover letter that would likely appeal to a prospective employer. First is the standard, conservative style, which focuses on the applicant being evidently considerate with the job being offered through the self-highlight of skills and abilities that should make them stand out from the others. This type of cover letter works in general for professional services. Next is the standard speculative letter, which entails a more specific approach to highlighting what the applicant can do best and contribute to the position needed. It is more of reassurance on what the applicant is capable of. The last is the letter for creative jobs, which style is to be original at the same time appealing and not comical or laughable in its approach.
PART 3
There are three types of resumes: Chronological which focuses on work history; Functional which emphasizes more on the skills acquired rather than on the positions held; and the third is the Combination, which is a combination of the former two. As for my situation, the Functional resume would fit my job hunting pursuits as the skills acquired through experience are a great asset for me and would increase my chances of getting hired.
