Example Of Enhancing Our International Campus Community Essay

The University of Dayton community has been having several problems especially between native students and international students. This project aims at researching and studying the reasons why native students are in touch with international students in this university. This research was done to help find ways in which both international and native students can interact more frequently within the University of Dayton. It is important that students interact among themselves so that they can learn from each other and in the process appreciate each other despite the differences that exist. The University of Dayton has for years accepted students from all over the world making the number of international students to grow. This has led to multiple cultures within the university and it is important that these cultures live harmoniously within the university hence the purpose for this research.
This research will be done in groups consisting of five members each. Each member of a group will represent a specific culture and or characteristics. The groups will consist of three American students, one Saudi student and one Chinese student. This team of five will work two main concepts that are surveys and focus groups to be able to identify the exact issues affecting the university. All the teams have a mission to offer advice to the University of Dayton community so that they can help bridge the gap between international and native students. These students should also learn from each other and appreciate their differences.
This is a very good idea as it will bring integration and acceptance between international and native students. This research has the potential to help forge a good studying relationship between native and international students. As an international student, I agree with this research to go on as it will bring us together and improve our relationships with native students. This initiative will help us learn from each other thus improving our performance both in class and within the campus.
The focus group has the task of finding a solution to this problem. For example, it is important to let students from different cultures find out their different perceptions about each other. It is important to note that this survey will not give us the exact answers to our questions. Therefore, it is important to carry out this survey in different forms. The study should have both the native and international students’ research on each other to find out the thoughts they have towards each other. In my opinion there is more one reason for this issue. First, is because Dayton is a small city and Dayton citizens have not been exposed to people of different cultures like in big cities such as New York. In these big cities the relationship between natives and international people is different that it is in Dayton. To conclude, it is important that these problems be solved through this research so that we can have a University where people interact freely.
