Introduction
In today’s world, physical appearance is at the center of considerations by everyone and so are the grooming products. Everyone is on the outlook for best grooming products that will conveniently and consistently keep them well-groomed and good-looking. Companies that either manufactures or delivers shaving and personal grooming products like Dollar Shave Club thus come in handy (Glazer, 2012). Even though multiple companies exist in line with shaving as well as other personal grooming products, Dollar Shave Club stands out of them all. This paper serves to elaborate my passion and favoritism for Dollars Shave Club.
Firstly, the Dollar Shave Club’s monthly package is an ‘all under one roof’ provision that no doubt books its space at the top of the bar. Dollar Shave Club unlike most of its competitors within the industry offers customers a membership club in which after registering and choosing a package, all the preferred products are delivered to customer(s).
The choice of which products to be delivered alongside the usual shavers depends on the client. For instance, a client can choose the Humble Twin package that consists of the basic shaver, two stainless steel blades, lubricating strip as well as five cartridges (Davila, 2016). There is the option of the 4X package consisting of a shaver, four stainless steel blades, lubricating strip, four cartridges as well as a complete 90-degree pivoting head (Davila, 2016). And finally, they can choose The Executive package which on the other hand contain super-duper shaver, 6stainless steel blades, lavender lubricating strip, vitamin E, and Aloe as well as a complete 90-degree pivoting head (Davila, 2016). Depending on the chosen package, the inclusive products will be delivered to the customers on a monthly basis. The advantage is that the customer will not have to spend time looking for each of the products separately. All the goods needed for a convenient and quality shave are provided in a single delivery. This reliable ‘all under one roof’ (all shaving products in a single package) thus makes Dollar Shave Club the best of all the companies in this line of goods.
Secondly, as hinted above, the provisions are reliable and customer oriented. The deliveries that are done monthly make Dollar Shave Club the better options especially for the working class that has problems balancing their time between work and personal/homes issues. While for other companies, the customers have to reschedule their time to squeeze a chance to get the razors from the local stores, Dollar Shave Clubs gives the customers a reason to keep running their routine errands regularly as deliveries are timely and consistent (Davila, 2016). The deliveries are done monthly, and so customers do not have a worry about their time. The client only needs to make the agreed monthly payments depending on the chosen package and then the company takes the responsibility of ensuring that the products reach the customer as agreed. The fact that the customers can continue with their lives and businesses as usual and still have their shaving products delivered in the full package makes an excellent choice as far as time saving is concerned and thus remains to be my favorite.
Lastly, Dollar Shave Club is sensitive to the customers’ financial capability while still keen to provide all the necessities needed for quality shaving. While they still ensure that every customer finds all the necessary products for shaving besides the razor, Dollar Shave Club also gives a variety of choice depending on the financial capability of their clients. While the ‘Humble Twin’ package goes for $3 per month and $36 per year, the 4X package costs $6 per month and $72 per year whereas the ‘Executive ’package is at $ 9 per month and $108 per year (Davila, 2016). What amounts is that the customers are given a chance to make the right choice depending on their financial capabilities whereas still holding to their customer-oriented objective of providing all the necessary shaving products (as per the customer) in a single delivery.
Based on the three customer oriented reasons stated above, Dollar Shave Club has managed to build strong customer relationships. Most clients prefer the Dollar Shave Club not only because of its ‘all under one roof’ provision but also because its monthly deliveries are time-saving, and their varied package choices are sensitive to the financial capabilities of the customers.
Dollar Shave Club is however not alone in the industry. It is critical to making note that success will always be an attracting force to competitors, and the same can be said about the DSC. The DSC has various competitors among them is the Harry’s (Angel Di, 2014). The other competitor is Gillette as noted by Trewin (n.d) and Glazer (2012). The three brands compete in a triple match where quality matters, customer service, and reliability among other factors are gauged. Even though the two competitors offer similar products, Dollar Shave Club beats them on the grounds of the three benefits mentioned above thus making Dollar Shave Club my favorite and so it is only fair to accord the DSC a tip of the hat. As a consumer, reliability, pricing, quality and availability stand out as the qualities, I watch out for, and the DVC provides these.
Conclusion
Given that most people take much consideration on personal grooming to ascertain their proper appearance, companies providing grooming products like Dollar Shave Club are taking the center stage. Even many companies exist in the industry; Dollar Shave Club is my favorite. This essay served to elaborate reasons behind this favoritism and passion.
