I was always fascinated by corporate culture. Even in my high school, rather than being Doctor or engineer I preferred to be a corporate manager. At that time, the concept was quite vague to me, as I always wanted to wear a suit and work in glass office. This was the whole that I understood of working in a company in my high school. As I kept growing, the concept became clearer to me and finally I decided to pursue a major in accounting in my college. Although many of my co-students chose a major in business, but I preferred accounting due the reason that I always had a keen to get into depth and technicals. I believe that being a business major provides you a chance to look on the business process from a general point of view unlike accounting where you get into deep of the business and try to interpret the actual technical’s of it.
I have planned my career in the following manner (based on certain assumptions)
Step No: 1= after graduating, I would seek to obtain an apprenticeship in an audit firm. Meanwhile, I would enroll myself in ICAEW or CPA (whichever is present in student’s country).
Step No: 2= after serving for a period of three years, I would provide my level best to pass the related exams and obtain the most prestigious accounting qualification.
Step No: 3= I would seek a job in Public limited companies specifically that are related to financial services such as banks, brokerage houses, and financial institutions. My next preference would be to join a top tier audit firm.
Step No: 4= I would serve at my organization for five years (assumption) after which I would work to establish my own private practice in Accounting and consulting.
Step No: 5= after I analyze that I have received enough market experience and have made substantial contacts and potential clients, I would completely devote myself to my private practice.
