Female sex is one of the serious problems that are affecting the nature of the women today in the entire world. This is an extremely serious issue that should be addressed to reduce the number of the female sex workers who sell their bodies for money. However, the problem of female sex workers is even worse between the Mexican and the United States border. The article, “Sexoservidoras: Mexican Female Sex workers in the U.S-Mexico Border” stipulates how the women end up working as commercial sex workers. The study of this article is particularly vital in the sense that it reveals the risks that are exposed to the women. In most nations, the problem of female sex workers has drastically increased.
There are various reasons that Cepeda the author of the article, “Sexoservidoras: Mexican Female Sex workers in the U.S-Mexico Border” has discussed that results to female opting to commercialize their bodies. One of the key reasons is that women are motivated to join the prostitution industry because of the financial needs. A large amount number of women in the society have been left with responsibilities that they are supposed to take care off. For instance, most women whose husbands have died have been forced to search money to sustain the lives of the growing children. Since the women want to make quick money, they are forced to join prostitution which provided the money needed for survival. The article reveals that another factor that promotes prostitution in the society is the difficult economical situations. The Mexican women are forced to maintain families which are expensive. To be capable of maintain life, most women are forced to join prostitution. The article also enlightens the society of the risks that women are exposed to when undertaking the prostitution operation. For instance, death and HIV are some of the mentioned risks in the article.
However, the weakness of the article is that Cepeda, the author does not discuss the preventive measures that would be undertaken to reduce prostitution in the Mexican-U.S border. In the entire article, there is no single solution to prevent prostitution that has been discussed. This makes it to be extremely difficult for women who are already prostitutes to learn of the method in which they can reform. Most women who are prostitutes find it difficult to refrain from prostitution because of they are used to cheap money. For this reason, the author of the article, “Sexoservidoras: Mexican Female Sex workers in the U.S-Mexico Border” would have given procedures that would be followed to reduce prostitution in the society. The rational choice theory should be implemented to curb prostitution especially between the Mexican-U.S borders.
Saint Onge, Jarron. The implications of globalization for health and Diseases. Texas: University of Houston.2011
The article, “The implications of globalization for health and Diseases” gives detailed information concerning the difference in the health programs. A keen study through the article stipulates that developed nations have higher life expectancy as compared to the less developed nations. Through keen reading and perusal of the, “Implications of globalization for health and Diseases” article, the reader learn that the developing nations require assistance to upgrade the health facilities to increase the low life expectancy. The difference is given to almost 30years, which is caused by poor medication.
However, through globalization which is discussed in the article, the difference between the distinct nations is being reduced. This ensures that the health programs are improved in the poor nations to enhance the life expectancy period. Globalization is whereby nations try their level bets to increase the connectivity and reduce independence in business and the world markets. The number of deaths of both children and adults has varied from one nation to another. The difference is wider especially between the already developed and the yet developing nations. The nations are enduring problems especially curbing the number of the deaths in the developing nations.
The health patterns of the developed nations are diverse as compared to those that are applied in the developing nations. For this reason, there is an enormous gap between the number of patients dying in developed and developing nations. People in the third world nations are encountering a problem in reducing the mortality death rate that has drastically increased. This is especially affecting the sub-Saharan part of African were the life expectancy is extremely low. This can be illustrated by the fact that the life expectancy of nations such as France and United States are high. This is totally contrary with that of the less developed nations which have a life expectancy that is low as 40 years.
There are also some weaknesses that are highlighted when one reads the article “The implications of globalization for health and Diseases”. One of the key weaknesses is that the article discourages globalization. According to the author, Saint Onge, globalization is also increasing the health problems that are associated with low life expectancy. For instance, Saint Onge who is the author of the article indicates that globalization has lead to the creation of various new companies. Since most of the developed nations like exploiting the less privileged, new companies are usually developed in the nations. This ensures that new skilled and unskilled labor is provided for the farm.
Migration that is a result of the movement of the citizens to search for employment causes transfer of health problems. This promotes the spread of diseases from one place to another. Through this discussion, the author discourages globalization which is promoting development in the less developed nations. This might be a negative influence to the developed nations since it might reduce life expectancy. In this case, the critic theory has been used in the article since the article is focused on changing the impression of the society.
