Question 1: List of Personal and Social Problems and explanation of one of them.
Personal Problems include lack of hygiene, procrastination, not keeping up the promises, hatred to a specific group of individuals without any justifiable cause, drinking and driving and many more. Out of the aforementioned problems drinking and driving is a very serious personal and social problem. At one side drinking is a personal act. Driving in complete senses is no crime and not a deviant act but, drinking while driving becomes a huge problem. It can lead to accidents thereby causing damage not only to ourselves but to the life and property of others thereby causing disturbances in the society. It is pretty clear that in case of such accidents the individual or personal act of a person is disturbing the very social fabric of a society and it has direct negative impact on the society.
QUESTION 2: Factors necessary for getting a Job? Social and Personal Factors?
For a job various personal factors such as education, experience, family background, religious background, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and socialization skills are important inter alia. Similarly, social factors include religion, cultural background, cast, language and many others. For getting a particular job, experience into the relevant field matters a lot. The more experienced the candidate is the more opportunities the employer will see in him/her for the better of the organization. Thus, it is always mentioned in the job advertisement that persons having only a certain limit of experience may apply for a particular job. Similarly, the social factor of language is very important. In contemporary world of competency, a person having skills in many languages is usually preferred over others so that he/she can communicate effectively with peers belonging to different races, culture and societies.
QUESTION 3: Biggest Problem my country is facing today?
In my opinion, the ever increasing gulf between the African-American people and the cops is the most serious problem the country is facing. There is a continuous hatred amongst the two groups and they are in continuous disharmony with each other. The various incidents of firing by a cop on African-American person further fuel the fire. There is a failure to understand the social and cultural aspects of African-American people on the part of law enforcement and on the other hand the African-American people have to learn to live within the permissible limits of law of the land to bring a sphere of harmony. Hence, this is the most serious problem faced by my country today. Both the groups have faults.
The article about the life of Dasani dilates upon the dismal life of poor people in the rich city of New York. It would be apt to say that the article revolves around the extreme paucity of many such poor families who have been living an appalling state of life due to extreme poverty. Their paucity is unmatched. The paupers of New York City. This would be one of the best examples of a paradox. At one side, the city is one of the most popular cities in the world with an ever increasing skyline. At the other hand, on the contrary, the number of poor families living in this city of rich is also increasing proportionately.
In a nutshell, such poor people live a disastrous life full of miseries and pains. They dream of achieving success and a better life style with an empty stomach. They have to work day in and day out to win bread for their family. It becomes a tremendous task for them to live the life alone set aside the enjoyment. They don’t have enough resources to even enjoy basic luxuries of life.
As members of society what we can do to look for these issues of the poor and the have-nots. Well, a lot can be done. There are myriad examples of people who have been doing great job for the poor people. Mother Teresa is one example. Abdul Sattar Edhi, who just died on 8th July, 2016 was a renowned philanthropist. The following paragraphs will dilate upon what we can do as members of society to better the state of affairs of such people.
If we cannot physically participate in helping such people, then at least we can give charity to reputed charity organizations which can further help such poor families. Charity does not mean at all to give a lot of money. If everybody gives a small sum of his/her income for charity, it will combine into a huge sum which can be used to buy these people better homes, better food and better clothes to wear.
Food Wastage:
It is a very dismal fact that each day thousands of tons of food are wasted in restaurants by rich people enjoying their leisure time. Why waste this food? If we cannot provide the poor with the food, can’t we give them even leftovers? This is a shame. At least those who are living in better conditions can definitely do this. They can give their leftover meals to those who deserve so that they can satiate their hungers.
Optimal Usage of Natural Resources:
This is very important point. We must feel our responsibilities towards nature. If we optimally use the resources of nature, we can conserve energy, food and what not. In this way, there would be lesser burden on the state and the state can further enhance their welfare programmes for the goodwill of the general public and the poor families.
Attitudinal Changes:
Last but not the least, if we cannot help anyone physically and economically, we can at least have a soft corner for the miseries one is facing. We can give them a smile which can serve a motivating factor for them. We can help them in their education. We can share our play time with the children of such poor families for the sake of their pleasure. We can try to share ideas with them. We ought to make them friends with ourselves. We ought to accept such people in our society. We can listen to their problems and suggest solutions. All these things do not cost us a single penny. This will just do better to such families and their children.
