Summary: Crash
The story by Paul Haggis begins with shots of wavering car light concurrent with eerie music from a synthesizer, this happens concomitantly with detective Graham waters, speaking provocatively about the prerequisite to crush into each other and the nature of Los Angeles. As the initial events of this story unfolds, a Latino lady named Ria who was seated in the driver’s seat of the car narrates how they were hit from behind, she then comes out with an Asian women who was in her company as a partner driver. Subsequent to the events that took place prior, the two women, Ria and her partner driver exchange bitter words each blaming the other for the mishaps that nearly caused their deaths making racial jibes.
Waters gets out of and proceed towards the scene of the crime where the police are standing at the moment. One cop mentions that they had identified a body and then the scene flashes back to yesterday.
Generally, from the events that takes place in the first four pages of the document provided, there is a profound portrayal of the theme (racism). The characters all through as defined by the topic crush into each other owing to racial differences between them. Evidently, though born innocent and pure hearted, characters learn prejudices as they grow up following the racism that is prevalent and apparent in Los Angeles a city of a mixed race. The events taking place in the first four pages of the article give a negative impression of those who do not belong to your race. It is also apparent that even those endorsed to maintain law and order engage in racism a fact that further crashes people all through the story.
