The news article offers various important information about the economic significance of having an equal labor treatment. Meaning, not all workers are able to experience some benefits like what others do. Primarily, the news article’s objective is to inform readers about the likelihood of some individuals to earn less than what other employees earn. Additionally, the article wants to persuade the readers in relation to the effects of education towards the future employment status of a person.

There are also differences in the salary of workers, depending on which industry he or she works. For instance, the article is informing the reader that people who work in information sector, such as broadcasters, software developers, and other similar jobs, earn more than the average American. In fact, an average American employee earns around $25 hourly rate, while the information sector workers earn roughly around $36 or more.
This is a reality that there is a sense of inequality in terms of salary, regardless of the effort one exerts. Additionally, there was a generalized presentation of topic about the minimum wage hike, as it is one of the long-running issues in the United States. On the other hand, this issue does not only affect the workers themselves. The author also persuaded the side of employers, who may not be able to cope with economic challenges if they will increase or realign their workers’ salary.
Since the news article presented some information about the relationship between a person’s academic background and possible employment, then, the article can serve as a wake-up call to people to push further and aim towards obtaining a college diploma. In fact, those who were unable to obtain at least a high school diploma are the ones who earn lower than the other employees in the United States.
The highlight of the news article shows that there are significant pieces of evidence that women are likely to earn less than men. Thus, in the issue of minimum wage, women are also the ones who are likely to receive this pay in contrast with their male counterpart. Although it has been one of the oldest issues in the economy, the news article presented the inequality issue in labor market using statistics and other pertinent data. This provided more information about how the labor force in the United States can be developed and why people must give more importance to academic excellence as it plays important roles in achieving a better future.
