Death and Family
Abortion is one of the utmost ethical controversies related with healthy dying. This controversy has divided people for ages and even in the recent times. Abortion, being a process which involves killing of an unborn baby due to different reason, has not been met well by different people. Another controversy related with healthy dying is euthanasia, which involves the termination of acutely sick people’s life with the aim of relieving them off their pain. Most people undergoing euthanasia usually has incurable diseases, but some people also decide to end their life.
In the human service professional, this controversial healthy dying process has somehow tainted their outstanding image while, also going against the ethics of health professionals of safeguarding life. To a number of people who are against this procedure, they are losing a lot of trust in health professionals, and end up creating a negative view of the health faculty. Since these issues are of considerable concern to the public, especially when health is a matter of discussion, the health professional should try and explain the need and disadvantages of this procedure. The matters under debate should be answered, and a favorable conclusion identified. The public concern to this issue should be adhered to, and dealt with in the right manner possible.
Approaches to these ethical controversies related to healthy dying differ with cultures. Each culture has its own dos and do nots. While some cultures encourage the easing of pain during dying, some other cultures believe that death and life should not interfered with by a human being as it is considered a supernatural force. Abortion in most cultures is considered a sin, and a lot of condemnation is attributed to those people who have performed it. Life is considered precious. In recent times, abortion may not be an issue to the existing culture since it now readily accepted and understood.
