Importance: High
As discussed in our last monthly management meeting concerning employee time management especially those based in the KC section, the situation has not improved. As a company, we are still not realizing the threshold time of 40 working hours. The most affected periods are around 8 AM and 5 PM around the Associate Center thus creating an unhealthy business environment, which must be fixed to avoid subjecting management personnel to unwanted repercussions.
Below are suggested causes of actions that I intend to implement by next week in efforts to solving this menace once and for all!
1. Closure of the Associate Center for staff during the most affected periods
2. Thorough hiring checks for KC based vacancies. This element might require approval from the Cabinet.
3. Implementing the time clock check system to monitor employees’ arrival and departure times. We will have to discourage all manner of unauthorized absenteeism.
4. This culture might force the management to apply 5% benefits reductions to KC staff and the halt of 15% discount on the recently approved Cerner Stock Employee Purchase Program.
5. Positive reactions towards this concern will warrant promotions.
We need to note that these directives are not meant for punishment purposes but rather curb this persisting culture soonest. After all, not all KC staff are affected by this culture as a good number of them are hard working and committed to the realization of Cerner healthcare transformations.
Please feel free to share your thoughts on this. My directives are just suggestions and are not cast in stone. We can only solve this issue together while also instilling the right mentality to our juniors. I would suggest separate sectional meetings with our employees so as to hear from them since they would be better placed to understand the origins of this culture. We anticipate seeing positive results in two weeks time. Thank you all for your time and understanding. Best of Luck!
