Emergent strategy at Virgin Group; the company started with any precise strategy in 1968 but has grown remarkable. The company was estimated to annual sales of US$10 billion. The company believes that there is always more opportunity ready to represent itself. They compare business opportunities to buses; there is always another coming along. Virgin examines new opportunities to see if they can offer what other companies do not offer. The Virgin group has focused in expansion of their geographical areas of scale in the recent past. They have also focused on their main area of business that is the United Kingdom (Lynch 2014).
Viagra was introduced as a drug for heart diseases. The medical practitioners then ventured on the side effects and came up with another function of the said drug. It is now earning the companies that make Viagra lots o million more than even the intended purpose could have generated.
One of my greatest hobbies is reading. I like to read most sorts of books and mostly novels. Using the SMART criteria I am able to analyze my hobby and get the best of it. SMART is an acronym which stands for specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely (MacDonagh et Cuzzone 2007). When I start reading my specific aim is to get the best of that source. If it is a novel then I must be able to know the main character and his relations to other actors. I should also know the end story. In a research work I should be able to understand the methods used and the end result. I can measure the number the numbers of books have read by counting them. Reading specific books is achievable. I can get my sources from the internet or from school and national libraries. Getting and reading books is attainable. Reading one thousand pages of a novel is not quite realistic as one is bound to be distracted. I read such novels in chapters which is more realistic. Before I start reading any given piece of writing I give myself a time frame within which I should be able to complete the reading process. Reading help me understand various phenomena in the world. When I read research work I am able to effectively understand the topic being discussed.
