We live on planet Earth and as citizens of this world we must do everything possible to preserve it for the future generations. Unfortunately, with all the different types of pollution nowadays, we are not playing our role properly. I believe that pollution is a very important issue of the modern world and deserves to be written about. Not all countries pollute the environment with the same amount of toxins. It is mostly the developed countries that are to blame. However, it is also these countries that try to invent technologies which would be eco-friendly for the environment. There are three types of pollution which are equally important to think about: air pollution, water pollution and land pollution.
A person cannot survive without air for very long. We breath it in all the time. Depending on how clean the air is, our health can either be good or bad. Just think of all the bad chemicals a person breathes in every day in a bit city. Moreover, it is not only about us! It is about our home. Not only do our actions cause us to become sick but they also cause Mother Earth to become sick. The green house effect which is now hanging over our society came from all the pollution that was emitted into the air. Even though factories have in some countries been caused to control the amount of toxins they put in to the air, the damage done is too great. We simply cannot restore the air to what it used to be. Unfortunately, it is not only the air that we need to worry about.
Another important natural resource that we need to simply survive is water. We are not the only creature on the planet for which water is essential. Just think of all the fish out there. For them, swimming in dirty and contaminated water is deadline. Moreover, we are the ones eating fish! This simply means that we ourselves are feeding each other with poison. Water pollution is mostly cause not directly by single people, but by enterprises and big factories. More and more sanctions are being introduced every day in order to reduce the amount of contamination from their side.
Together with air and water, land has also become much polluted over the years. This falls under the type of land pollution. We live in a consumer society. We not only consume large quantities of products but also through many things away. This not only includes packaging but also many things that could be reused, recycled or mended. In its turn, all of this turns to waste. Together with the waste produced by factories and big producer companies, the amount of toxins put directly into the ground is incredible. Even the things that may not be directly toxic for the environment take too much time to decompose to produce a positive effect.
The modern world is polluted from three levels – air, water and land. Each of these levels plays an essential part in our life and wellbeing and so must be preserved. More and more campaigns for recycling and eco-friendly living are introduced daily. However, until we are ready to make simple changes into our everyday life, they will be unimportant. Let us think of the environment, of our world and do as much as possible to clean and beautiful.
